Default Anyone play some PS2 football??

Hey guys, are any of you playing the new line of football games out yet???

How's the online mode this year for madden???

I just wanted to get a first hand view of it.

I'm probably getting NFL Gameday anyway, i've liked that line of games for a while. And they've really come up with some good things for their online mode this years... realtime weather and daily roster updates, buddy lists, tournaments.

I really can't wait to get my hands on the game.

Yeah, too bad about that cover for Falcons' fans.

Anyone checked Vegas' line on how the Falcons go up in flames? Vick just has a suck-ass year? Or does he go down with a broken leg in Week One as Randall Cunningham used to annully?

NCAA 2004 will always dominate the football market. Maybe not in the sales, but in quality. Of course I have nothing against the Madden games but NCAA is where it's at.

LOL!

Don't that happen to every great player who grace a Madden cover?

I won't be able to afford Madden 2004 when it comes out, maybe after a couple of months.

I got a PS2 this spring, so I'll be looking forward to playing Madden 2004 on it. I played 2003 on my computer, so it should be interesting to compare which has better quality/game play. I prefer consoles because I don't have to fiddle with drivers, software, USB cables and ports, etc. As for the cover jinx, I expect Vick to go down with a broken leg or something early in the season.

i expect him to go down in week 1

i'm getting Madden when it comes out. its the best football game out there. i already have NCAA 2004 and have been playing that a lot, especially my Penn State dynasty. GameDay has probably the best online features but the gameplay in that series has just been horrible the kast few years.

Ahh but you have to pay an extra $50 to play online with madden this year, and I'm NOT gonna do that for an online mode with less features.

Gameday all the way!!

That stinks. I played online last year with Madden 2003 on my PC. How do you get online with your PS2?

EA has lost me with their decision to charge for thier online games.

If you read the reviews, including the one on espn.com there's very little difference between Madden and NFL Gameday. Price of gameday $40.... Madden 50 + 50 more to play online. I just don't see that being worth it. I'm soooooo getting NFL Gameday!!

Madden 2004 is simply amazing....from Owner Mode (controlling ticket prices, concessions, advertising, & parking.) You can build a new stadium, rename your stadium through an advertiser and earn extra cash, relocate to a different city, and at the end of season you can hire other coaches away from their teams.....I haven't even got to the game itself.

Playmaker control where you can have defense play bump & run or 3-5 yards off. You can drop players back in coverage for pass and move them up to play the run....you control blockers on offense....one direction on the controller and you tell them where to go...probably the best that lacked in most is the fumbles & int's...it doesn't happen a lot, but about the same amount in real football. Anywhere from 2-3 fumbles per game....Hell they even had the CPU RB fumble on the 1 yard line....Highly recmmended, when EA says if it's in the game, it's in the game. They really meant it here....oh and the computer loves to challenge plays.

Forgot one more thing, when you score you can do different celebrations based on buttons pressed. Example TO will pull out a sharpie and sign the football.......

I rented NCAA Football 2004 (will buy later) and I just bought Madden 2004 the other day. Great games! I've already lost too many hours sitting in front of the TV.
