Default MVP Watch..

So who get's everyone's vote? I needed about four seconds to think about who get's mine. Steve Nash. Here's why. No Amare Stoudemire ALL YEAR, no Joe Johnson and no Q-Richardson. Three big-time scorers for the Suns last year. Despite that, Steve Nash has better numbers this year then last year, the Suns are 42-17, leading the Pacific. Enough said.

1) Steve Nash
2) Chauncey Billups
3) Kobe Bryant
4) Dirk Nowitzki
5) Allen Iverson

The top five that popped into my head. 2-5 have some fluidity, but Nash has separated himself from the pack.

Who was it that scored EIGHTY ONE points in a game and is pretty much single-handedly keeping his team in a playoff slot (when they'd otherwise be scraping the bottom)?

You know my vote The Most Valuable Player this year is Kobe Bryant.

One could argue that Kobe isn't even the best MVP candidate in Los Angeles.

No disrespect to Elton Brand, but - not gonna happen this season.

It's tough to argue against that one.... Nash just amazes the snap out of me every time I watch him.

Hmm, whose MVP chances were improved more: Kobe leading the Lakers to a win against the Pistons, or Nash lighting up the Mavericks at Dallas?

I didn't catch the Lakers game, but Nash was unconscious this past Sunday.

I had this same arguement at the beginning of the season with a couple of you. Mainly Dublin Mike and #99. It was a thread started about how the Suns had just lost Amare Stoudemire for 4-5 months thanks to his knee injury. The arguements were coming across the board such as this:

Posted by #99:

Trust me, I watched a lot of Suns games last year and often still go back to Phoenix. The Suns' offense does sputter w/o Nash, yes, but it is absolutely toothless with Stoudemire.

Posted by Dublin Mike:

As far as ranking Stoudamire above Nash, it is close bud. But, we are gonna see how Nash reacts without his main target to go to for a few months.

The points were all there, the Suns are there and they did it without Amare Stoudemire! They would be the number one TEAM IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE if Amare would have played the first 3/4 of the season. They are solid sitting at the #2 SEED in the West (as of 3/8/06). And they did it without "arguably" There best player!

Steve Nash will have a back to back MVP season. Hands down.

1) Steve Nash
2) Chauncey Billups
3) Kobe Bryant
4) Elton Brand
5) Dirk Nowitzki

I don't know why we have to go through this every year, but here we go again...THE WORST FINISH IN THE LEAGUE ...EVER... BY A TEAM WITH AN MVP ON IT WAS 4TH BY MICHAEL JORDAN IN 1988. And that was media darling MJ! Only Det, SA, Dal, Pho (possibly Miami if they keep winnin') have a shot at getting an MVP player. With that in mind...

1. Dwayne Wade
2. Tony Parker
3. Tim Duncan
4. Shawn Marion
5. Steve Nash

Buckeye I understand your logic but how can you leave off any players from the team with the best record in the leauge then. I think you should switch Duncan (battling injuries) with Chauncy ( best player on the best team)
