Again Fresh, precisely how will this "Revolution" happen and who will overthrow our Government?
What do you mean "how?" I think it is pretty self-explanatory. I explained that once globalization and capitalization of the entire world takes effect, you will have 90% of the world living in near poverty. That 90% will eventually rise up against the powers that be. I believe that answers your "who" question as well.

The US government will be weak in 100 years. We are falling further and further in debt, and within our lifetimes China will take over as the hegemony of the world. We will be replaced as the world's super-power due to irresponsible policies of our government.

I believe the USA will weaken as soon as we have another Democratic President.

Explain how? Democrats provide better respect around the world. Just look at the difference between Clinton and Bush. Clinton received standing ovations in other countries, Bush get's protested. Other countries hate Bush, the loved Clinton.

This is one of the funniest things I have ever read, Fresh. Clinton was, is and always will be a joke. His "policies" were non-existant, at best. He had no agenda, except to keep his backside in the oval office doing whatever he chose to do there.
You should really consider a change of profession. You would make a mint as a stand-up comedian. Use your "Clinton was the best President" stuff and you'll surely succeed.
Again, thanks for the laughs. Now you can explain how the proletariat will overthrow the Government and how they will then overthrow the leaders as Marx predicted. The leaders will not step aside easily.
As Orwell said "all are created equal, but some are more equal than others".
I'll wait for your response, but my response will come when I get home from work. Some of us actually work when we are supposed to, not play around on the internet.

Yeah yeah yeah. Unfortunately for you, history and facts are on my side.

George W. Bush will go down as the worst president of all time.

Bill Clinton left office with over a 70% approval rating. I guess people like him so much because he could play the sax....

Again, personal insults. You're a big man Napolean.

I don't "work", I enslave the poor who are beneath me, doing my part of widening the gap between rich and poor, to allow the inevitable global overthrow of capitalism to come to fruition.

I sense a little sarcasm grizzle, which is fine.

Fresh, I do not insult you personally. I comment on your "debating" style, period.
I respect your opinion on this subject, but believe you to be horribly misguided. Socialism is not a more "mature" economic engine. It is not going to work the way you want it to, I fear. Also, there is no way in the world that people (the proletariat as Marx called them) are going to rise up without some leadership, which Marx said would willingly step aside to allow them to live their lives "for the common good". Those leaders will be the ones that benefit from a socialist society, not the proletariat (who will be little more than slaves) If you don't like the distribution of wealth now, just wait to see how it's distributed under your system. You will be a bit dissatisfied, I am afraid, but will not be able to do much about it. The despots will control everything and you will work for peanuts.
Please explain how the despots will step aside, allowing the Marxist plan to reach its goal.

To bring this discussion back to the original point, I believe Mr. Edwards just gave the voters every reason to vote for someone else. Voters do not like tax increases, especially those of us that understand the way taxes are structured.

Right... "You should really consider a change of profession. You would make a mint as a stand-up comedian."

You are telling me this was NOT a sarcastic remark trying to belittle my beliefs and make a joke at my expense??

Quote:

Right, and 95% of the population will see no increase of taxes if Edwards is elected, only the very wealthy, and most people think that the very wealthy SHOULD be taxed more.
