Salaries to match KG?

I'm thinkin' Kwame, Mihm (on IR), and a few others? Do you ditch Odom (IR)?

I want Farmar, Cook, Bynum, and Walton to stay...no matter what.

To hell with the rest of 'em.

The Wolves would probably want Bynum, so it would be Odom and Bynum and possibly something else.

Odom and Bynum for Garnett would be a fleecing by the Lakers. I like the four players you mentioned too, but I'd trade a good player and potentiall great player for a future HOFer any day. Superstars win title. Kobe and a few good pieces aren't going to cut it. This current crop of Laker have no chance of beating a team like Dallas or San Antonio in a seven-game series. And it's not the Mavs or Spurs going downhill. If anything they're getting better, with players like Josh Howard, Devin Harris and Fabricio Oberto improving.

Tray and Buck, comparing the Lakers to the Cubs is a poor analogy to say the least. They're a fun team to hate, though, so I understand your point of view.

At any rate, Luke Walton said it best after the Dallas win on Sunday (I see all of you were jacked up about that one...) when he stated that this team cannot be considered elite until the play consistently well against every team the way they did against the Mavs.

46-point third quarter meltdown to the Grizzlies, last night. Wow.

As for the possibility of a Garnett trade, it definitely isn't happening unless Odom is in the deal. And you're right, Bynum would have to be thrown in there, too, but Kupchek desperately wants to keep him. Haven't heard anything, though, about KG coming to town. Purely a rumor.

Same here, but you left Kobe off that list.

Walton had 4 points last night as the Lakers gave up 128 to Memphis. Fantastic.

Slug out a win against the Mavs, then get creamed by the Griz.

Where's a Charlies Dickens intro when you need one?

This is reason #1 they are not an elite team. You can only use the "we are a young team" excuse for so long. This inconsistancy will kill you as the season wears on.

Amazing game between LA and San Antonio on Sunday. Michael Finley's game-winning trey with 1.3 seconds to go in overtime proved that good always prevails over evil.

It was one of those games that leaves Laker fans shaking their heads. Another example of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
