That is what I have been trying to tell everyone. They have the deepest and overall best pen in the playoffs which brings their overall pitching up to par or in some cases better than everyone else's.

My apologises for not noticing doublee LOL ....

Good point on the bullpen's effect on the overall pitching staff of the Cards. With a solid bullpen, a starter may only need to go six strong innings instead of seven. And since the playoffs have started, we all know how important it is to have a solid bullpen. Could have been the difference in the Twins-Yanks or Sox-Angels series.

Clemens is still amazing no matter what age. He just gets the job done....

I wouldn't say it's a major shift in momentum but it definitely shakes things up.

I fully expected the Astros to win yesterday with Clemens and Lidge fully rested and their backs against the wall a bit. Now, the question is will Lidge be able to go today after the Cards made him throw 42 pitches in his two innings of work yesterday. If not the Astros could be in trouble if the Cards keep it close against Oswalt.

This could be a major upset and the story of baseball in 2003-04 if Houston takes game 6. Imagine, who would have picked these guys to go this far let alone make the playoffs.

No question, Beltran has been the best player in postseason baseball this year with apologies to the very clutch David Ortiz.

It is not as big of an upset as you might think. The Astros did win the season series 11-8 and they have won something like 20 of their last 21 at home. The huge upset will be if Boston pulls off the improbable.

And the Cardinals are just an offensive team. No upset at all. Houston pitching has done as expected thus far.

Well, better than expected. I dare you to find anybody who thought Backe had it in him to pitch a game like that last night.

All eyes in the baseball world will be on St Louis tonight and the weather isn't going to be great. I just hope the game is good, as Clemens should be ready to go. The Cardinals have to face a dominating pitcher.

Wooo!!! Hoooo!!! How about that Cards pitching now baby?!?!?!

Wow, so many clutch performances by the Cardinals tonight. Suppan with another clutch outing in a series clincher. Womack playing hurt and coming up with clutch plays. Edmonds saved at least two and maybe three runs with that catch early on in the game. And of course it is all about Pujols and Rolen at the plate. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the way my team played tonight.

Also, tip my cap to the Astros for putting up a valiant effort and taking my team to the limit.

Great series! Houston, coming back from an 0-2 deficit to take a 3-2 lead, and then St.Louis coming back to win those last two games at home.

Edmonds was huge with the clutch HR in extra innings in Game 6.

It was fitting to see Clemens pitch, one of the most competitive pitchers of all time, in Game 7. He was pretty amazing this season, and Houston was amazing coming from the dead late in the season to come very close to the World Series.

Great game for Renteria, his defense was great. Clutch hitting by Pujols, and the big homerun by Rolen to make it 4-2 in the 6th.

Great game and it should be a fun World Series.
