Default Tim Tebow, NFL Safety?

Tim Tebow, NFL Safety? -- NFL FanHouse

There's no doubt Tebow is one of the greatest CFB players ever, but many question rather it would translate into the NFL. Some say fullback or safety, what do you think? I'm still unconvinced he'll be the same playmaker at QB in the NFL as teams like the Jags show an interest in him. It's going to be quite interesting to watch...

Tim Tebow: college star and NFL bust or does he have a future as a star pro?

I am not sure he has the speed to play safety in the NFL. I mean he is fast for a quarterback but I think he would only have average speed for a safety and besides he is built more like a linebacker than he is a safety. I cannot think of any 240 pound safeties running around in the NFL.

I was hoping in the Tennessee game he'd show some passing improvement from last year, but, looked pretty lost out there in the passing offense.

Yeah, the guys on ESPN were banging on him yesterday over the Tennessee game. I am not sure how much it hurts him. I mean Monte Kiffin has made better QBs than Tebow look clueless in the NFL let alone college.

But, I think Kiper hit it on the head. We probably will not know what his draft status and pro prospects as a QB will be until the Senior Bowl rolls around after the season and scouts get to see him in a pro style offense.

Tebow is a college star and that's it. With his odd delivery, I just don't think he's going to be a force on the next level. He doesn't really fit into any position and will be used in special situations like a gimmick. Just color me very skeptical.

Philip Rivers has a weird delivery as well and he was the top rated quarterback in the league last year. The difference being though Rivers started in a conventional "pro style" offense for four years at NC State while Tebow is playing in an offense not widely used in the NFL. Most of the concerns I have heard being raised on him have to do whether he will be able to make reads while standing in the pocket and his perceived inability to throw the ball in tight spots.
