SC-Lee you can go to Yahoo and set one up for free. We are doing a pro Pick'em on the falcons website. We've got 21 guys so far, but you can have 50. If ya'll want I can give you the league and password to join ours, if ya'll don't create one.

Heatley, there was a weekly pick'em game here last year and the year before and to be honest, I TOTALLY forgot about it for Week 1! Will get it starting ASAP!

The line itself already includes the 3 points you speak of (actually it's usually a bit less than that if the road team is playing on the same surface it plays on at home).

But anyway, isn't it an insult that the Eagles are underdogs to a team that had a losing record last year? That's what happens when you have a slow, unimaginative, horizontal offense: You get no respect from the oddsmakers - in stark contrast to the Redskins, who are favored by more than an a touchdown over a team that finished only one game behind them a year ago.

And this on Kearse, from KFFL:
"The Tennessean reports Titans DE Jevon Kearse (triceps) was able to return for most of practice Sunday (Sep. 1). He'll probably be listed as questionable for Sunday's opener, but he is expected to play."

Do they have Super Bowl lines out yet or do they not predict?

Pittsburgh: 6-1......................Jacksonville: 30-1
Indianapolis: 8-1....................New Orleans: 30-1
Philadelphia: 8-1....................N.Y. Giants: 30-1
Denver: 12-1.........................Kansas City: 35-1
Green Bay: 12-1....................Cleveland: 40-1
Miami: 12-1...........................Minnesota: 40-1
New England: 12-1.................San Diego: 40-1
Oakland: 12-1.......................Seattle: 40-1
San Francisco: 12-1...............Atlanta: 50-1
Chicago: 15-1........................Buffalo: 50-1
Tampa Bay: 15-1...................Arizona: 60-1
Tennessee: 15-1...................Cincinnati: 80-1
Washington: 15-1..................Detroit: 90-1

Don't look at me - I disagree with the Colts being that short a price as much as you do.

If I had to guess, the reason for their odds being so low is that Indianapolis takes the sharpest drop in strength of schedule of any team in the NFL, in that the opponents they played last year won a total of 144 games while the opponents they are slated to play this season won only 112 games in 2001 (most of the drop is due to the realignment, as well as the placement of the expansion Texans in their division).

Another thing to keep in mind: The sports books only set the opening line; any changes after that are driven by how the public is betting on each of the teams. And the Colts actually opened at 10-1, so the sports books must have been getting more than enough bets on them all through the spring and summer; otherwise their odds would have gone up the way Baltimore's did. The Ravens opened at 15-1; now they're 30-1.

8-1 may be a bit high, but I really like the Colts. Quadry Ismail was a huge pickup and judging from today's game, Edge James is healthy to go along with Manning and Harrison. They will win 11-13 games.
