Pet peeve: colleges that have "state" in them that aren't named after states. Youngstown State, Fresno State, Boise State, etc etc.

Ohio State, California State, Idaho State... keep it real, education system.

A bigger pet peeve is the fact that only one of the three "r's" in education actually begins with the letter "r."

I'm frightened to share the road with some of my friends. One crashed her brand new Mustang a couple of weeks after getting it and two of my other friends got into a race and one of their car's ended up getting totally destroyed. We're generally a bad bunch of drivers.

I'm proud to say that after having my license for nearly a year, I have a clean driving record. *knock on wood*

If they wanted to race they deserved to crash.

A child with a Mustang crashed it?

Shocking.

What was your first car, buckeye? And did you have to crank the engine or not?

So I guess it was literally 1 horsepower.

I had a '91 Mazda MPV. Man that thing was a trip. It was like bizarro Speed; it couldn't go above 50. Also the brakes were pretty much dead. Everything I had to stop the car would make this loud, screeching noise. Sounded like Louie Armstrong singing underwater.

Interesting you should bring up Louie Armstrong. I actually gave him a ride in my horse and buggy back in 1908.

In other news...

We had a brief meeting after school today in what was a first: it was a pre-meeting to the meeting on Friday.

Highlights included several administrators using the word "pedagogue." If you don't know that word I'll tell ya what it means: teacher.

Why not just use the word teacher? Tryin' to impress me or something? I got a sheepskin too ya know. And if I ever run of toilet paper while on the pot I'll put that sheepskin to the only use it really has...

I shoulda been a drug dealer like all the other kids in my neighborhood.

I don't know if it feels good to be a gangster but I like the conditions you work under better: no bull**** and brute violence to get what you want.

I didn't know you were raised Amish. No wonder you're so stubborn about breaching traditions.

Just about finished with my Washington Irving final paper. After that I need to proofread it and do a massive edit on my Philosophy paper. Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight...

But after I hand these papers in, first semester of college is done!

Washington Irving -- there is a name from the past for me. I enjoyed reading "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and thought Ichabod was a fine name.
I also remember my first semester of college, but it was a long time ago in a galaxy far away......or so it seems now.
