Default The world is comming to an end

If you needed any proof that our neighbors to the North are completely insane...their 5 dollar bill will now feature hockey players.

Well I'd like to know your sources on this.

We've been comming out with new designs for all of our bills -- most recently the $10 bill about this time last year. However, the new $10 bill featured our first Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald, as the old one did.

The new $5 ones are in the process of being minted, but as far as I know they will still feature Sir Wilfred Laurier, one of our more prominent Prime Ministers throughout out 135-year history.

It's highly common for mints to release collectors coins and bills, though.. be aware of that. I have a silver dollar commemorating the most important goal in hockey -- Paul Henderson's goal in the 1972 Summit Series. There's ALL KINDS of collectors coins and bills but before you come toany conclusions that these will actually be MASSED PRODUCED and in CIRCULATION, I wanna see some sources.

Story on CBC.ca about our new $5 bill
FYI ... .. .. , Sir Wilfred Laurier, one of Canada's most prominent Prime Ministers, still graces the front of the bill. The "children at play" theme (the picture of "children tobogganing, learning to skate and playing hockey") is the BACK of the bill and not the focus of attention.

" It is also a celebration of Canada's northern climate where our winter pastimes in particular the game of hockey reflect our sporting heritage."

It's not like they put Gretzky or Lemieux on it.

A look at the CDN $10 bill on CBC.ca
Again, Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. MacDonald, is on the front while the back features an explorer scene.

Lee, you seem mad at Rick for bringing this up. Come on, it's just for fun.
