I'll tell you 1 thing, Cat...

All I know, if my Sox don't make it happen, at least I hope your Twins do. You're a Class Act & it's been a pleasure so far goin' down the stretch tradin' the ups & downs....

Yup, down the stretch. AL Central looks like its gonna have a great finish. Also the NL Wild Card is looking good too. I love September baseball.

Sorry Steve. I realize that some people are in another time-zone, literally.
Tark, I appreciate your sentiments and will reciprocate.
Now for the fun part of the season. September baseball is the best around. We see the future for some teams (Colorado has replaced Clint Barmes at SS with Troy Tulowitzki, Delmon Young has been called up by the D'Rays, Felix Pie will make an appearance in Wrigley) and some teams will make no moves.

He's the most recent addition to my fantasy baseball team.

Actually Catman, I really have had nothing to post in the August thread since my team went 8-21 (or s'thing) in August - so that was just me getting in one last August post. BTW, did anyone catch A. Cora's 1st HR of the season yesterday - a go-ahead 2R homer... It was off Rios' hand into the stands for a HR.

Just want to congratulate Ryan Howard on homerun 49 last night to set the Phillies single season record. He was absolutely amazing to watch this summer. He and Chase Utley together in Philly for a long time will hopefully lead to wonderful things.

If the Phils could find two or three guys to give them some quality innings in the rotation they'd be a serious threat.

Yankees beat the Twins 8-1 tonight, and A-Rod contributed 2 home runs.

Contreras pulls a Beuhrle, giving up 7 to KC & even tho the Sox load the bases twice in the 9th, lose 7-5....

The Yankees pound the Twins 8-1....

Of course, Detroit destroys the LAA 9-0....

So the Redsox win two in a row and I start to get back into it... Then Paplebon grabs his shoulder and leaves the game, and I heard Schilling will not make his scheduled start due to injury. Geez, I forgot to mention that Lester was diagnosed with form of lymphoma - my prayers go out to him. I know he'll beat it.

Pujols' 3-homer day means as long as he finishes the year with a .300 or better average he will extend his MLB record of being the only player to start his career hitting at least .300 or better, at least 30 homers, score at least 100 runs, and drive in at least 100 runs in each of the first six seasons of his career.

He is also back on pace to end up with more homers than strikeouts this year. His three homers give him 42 for the year while he has only struck out 39 times this season.
