Default What a Joke....

I was just looking over this morning and afternoon's football schedule and can't believe how ludicrous nearly all these matchups are. Those top teams should be embarrassed and humiliated putting those cream puffs on their schedule. They might as well be playing St. Mary's Girl School.

Is the administration of those weak schools trying to get one of their student athletes killed. They really shouldn't allow some of those matchups. If they do, it might be the biggest justification yet for paying them to play.

The administration of the "weak" schools are more interested in the check they receive for playing the stronger school. That's how they build a program.

Bob, how long have you been following college football? Every school puts at least one or two pushovers on the schedule to get an easy win and so they can play some of the underclassmen and see how they do in a game situation.

For many many decades and It's getting much worse....they used to play weak 1A schools, now they are dropping below that. I doubt if alot of these little schools even had a team back in my day.

When I was an undergraduate at ASU, we were a small school in the old WAC and I felt sorry for some of the teams like Utah St, New Mexico, Texas El Paso, Colorado St, Houston, San Jose St. But those teams are anything like some of these small schools some of these teams of today are scheduling.

I can't wait for Father Flannigan's orphans of Boys Town to show up on one of these schedules today.

Well, the thing is that a lot of the I-AA teams make more money on those one or two games then they do the rest of the season.

One of those "weak" schools also took out Colorado today.

Montana State 19, Colorado 10.

Me thinks the Buffaloes might be headed down the same road that Washington has. At least Colorado will have more direction with Hawkins than the Huskies did under Gilbertson.

Actually not a bad day for 1-AA's today. Richmond shutout Duke 13-0 and William and Mary only lost 27-14 to Maryland. Also, Illinois State trails Kansas State 13-10 and McNeese State leads South Florida 10-7.

Meh, is anyone really shocked that Duke lost to Richmond?

K state won by a point.

Opening night in 2006 and one Big 12 team lost to I-AA team and another won by a point against a I-AA school. The teams: Colorado and K State...two teams that are traditionally pretty good (K State under Snyder anyway).

Oklahoma wins by a TD against UAB.

Big 12 looked pretty bad tonight.

K State has been slowly sliding down the charts the past couple of years which is why Snyder bailed before he got ran out of town.

Let's clarify. K-State won by a point after: (1) not scoring an offensive touchdown the entire game. (2) getting severely outgained in every catagory. (3) the Illinois State coach electing to go for 2, and the win late in the fourth quarter, instead of tying the game and sending it to overtime.

where Illinois State probably would have ended up winning the ballgame. Welcome to the Ron Prince era!

I was at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence Saturday Night and the Kansas Jayhawks didn't look that strong offensively in the first-half, relying mostly on special teams to help set up any of there scores.

Right now, Nebraska may be the best team in the entire Big XII (North and South divisions).

Nebraska has to beat Texas before they can be called the best in the Big 12. The Longhorns looked every bit as good as Nebraska did on Saturday against mediocre opponents.
