Default Florida's Meyer to resign; cites health reasons

Big news from yesterday with Urban Meyer stepping down from coaching following the Sugar Bowl: Florida coach Urban Meyer steps down for health reasons - ESPN

This came as a shock to me, as I missed the news about him being hospitalized after the SEC championship game, but I'm glad he's doing the right thing for his health and his family.

Shocking story, but now it's taken a big turn as Meyer has changed his mind (apparently, he talked to Brett Favre): Meyer expects to be leading Gators in '10 | ajc.com

Now it looks like an indefinite leave. I think this is a good move for all parties. Yes, his health is most important, but can you imagine the regret he'd have in resigning permanently and never being able to get back to the top of the college football world as Florida head coach? Maybe he's just burned out from this season. The smarter move is to allow the option to come back. However, this has to be bad for recruiting... not to mention his defensive coordinator, Charlie Strong, just left for Louisville.

Meyer isn't going anywhere...

He pulled a Billy Donovan.

What is it with Florida coaches doing that?
