I guess, purple, you'll need to update your sig.

Anyway... is it okay to be a little skeptical of this bit of news?
i don't believe a word any agent says to anyone.

He may still be traded, but his destination could be ANYWHERE, at this point. That's just my opinion.

And, don't blast McCombs, purple. If this is happening now, after a deal has been reached with Fowler, Fowler let it happen.

Prepare for the move to LA...

Dave

Dave...a team source was on KFAN and confirmed it.

And Fowler doesn't own the team yet. Red still has 100% control of the Vikings.

Move to LA? Why? Just because Moss was traded?

Yeah, he's only at WORST the 2nd best WR in the NFL. Hard to see why they would want him.

I'm also VERY upset to see Moss go. As a Packer fan, I always felt good knowing our biggest rival was devoting millions of dollars and designing their offense around a very talented flake who was about 50/50 for showing up in the clutch. Now they might actually be a playoff threat... maybe. Ever heard of the Ewing Theory?

That said, Oakland's a great home for Randy. They embrace bad attitudes out there and he'll have Porter and the young gun WRs to deflect some attention. Kerry Collins throws a great long ball too. Win-win for everyone (except us Packer fans)

purple--be realistic. The deal's done. The league has to approve it, but aside from that and that Fowler doesn't have his people in place yet...
This wasn't done without his knowledge or consent.

And if it was, he'll find a way in the next week to reverse it.

Or was there a breakdown in the deal that I'm not aware of because this is my first venture into sports in about five days...???

I didn't say he was bad, just "a punk".

Seems a bit pricey for the Raiders, considering 1) They could possibly get either Braylon Edwards or Mike Williams and keep Harris and 2) their QB is Kerry @^%&ing Collins! What good is great WR with a crappy QB?

Moss should have an outstanding season though, assuming the Raiders get a decent QB/Collins sells his soul.

I promise you they got Fowler's consent before making this move. If Red really wants to sell the franchise there is no way he makes a move like this that could potentially queer the deal without Fowler's group giving the green light.

And here, folks were trashing ESPN and the like for rumor mongering that Moss was going to be traded. Hmm....

Well, they swore up and down that this was happening LAST off season too, so it's not like they have an impeccable track record.

Well, Punks go hand in hand with Punks.

While I give Oakland merit in pulling this together, especially giving up an above-average defender (Napoleon Kauffman) on the package, I still think Al Davis and his organization are more flare than bang. They should have gotten a RB, which they desperately need, instead of a pro-bowl receiver. Moss delivers, but still there are more pressing needs.

They still can. Lamont Jordan and Anthony Thomas are on the market and there is a ton of talent to be had at the position in the upcoming draft.

Former Vikings beat writer and current SI writer, Don Banks, writes this:

Quote:
"While there are conflicting indications whether Tice was for or against the deal in the very end, making that call really wasn't ever in his hands. He was recently informed from on high within the organization that Moss would be dealt if the price was right. Case closed. McCombs and vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski were running this show, and they pursued a trade aggressively from the time the Vikings were eliminated by Philadelphia in the NFC divisional playoffs on. Sources say the team's prospective new owner, Reggie Fowler, had little say in the matter."
If I was Fowler, I'd be PISSED. He's paying $625m for a team without Randy Moss? Did Red tell Reggie this was his plan, right up front? :redhot:
