Default Best team in the land?

Kind of interesting how Florida returns everyone and they still aren't No. 1, though I guess it's the two losses. North Carolina might have the most talent, but no experience. I think I'd take Florida over any right now, with UNC following, and on a level beneath them, UCLA and Wisconsin. I'm very impressed with Wisconsin's Alando Tucker ... that guy has some serious NBA skills and will be a lottery pick. Ohio State has been praised, but they are also very young, and overhyped because of Oden.

Marc, you disappoint me. When I saw you started a thread called "Best team in the land?", I thought FOR SURE you were talking about our beloved UK Wildcats...

Right now I would have to say the best team is Wisconsin they are really impressing me so far this season. Also I am a Duke fan so I am forbidden to say UNC.

Before the season, I had Wisconsin pegged as my "#5 seed that surprises in the NCAA Tourney"... now they ruined my plan to win the bracket contests since they will surprise nobody. Bo Ryan proved he was addicted to winning at the Division 3 level-- some people just have that special "edge". Not to give him too much credit though-- this is the most talented UW team in my lifetime, including Dick Bennett's Final Four team

The only reason it is this talented though is because of Ryan. The man knows how to win.

You've got to throw Kansas in the mix after their beat down of Oklahoma State last night. This year's bracket is going to have the best top-two lines in years.

Being down here in Tampa I get to see all of the Gator games. They (not unlike the football team did) aren't putting teams away like I would like them too. With UNC's comeback win against Virgina tells me they still have two or possibly 3 losses coming this year. So I'm left with Wisconsin as the best right now. I agree with Marc as to the overrated Buckeyes.

I think NC now, Florida will come on strong later.

Ohio State is praised more for its talent level than anything else. They just have not quite jelled just yet and Oden has struggled at times with his offense.

Carolina has the most depth and talent in the country while Florida probably has the best chemistry of anyone else. A lot of folks are starting to compare this to the '04/'05 season when Illinois was the best 'team' but Carolina had the most talent.

They have slightly more depth than Florida does. The Heels have 10 guys who are averaging 11.9 minutes or better a game while Florida only has 8. I think the Heels second five are slightly better than Florida's.

Darrell Arthur, Mario Chalmers, Sherron Collins, Darnell Jackson, Sasha Kaun, Russell Robinson, Brandon Rush and Julian Wright are as good as anybody's top eight in the country. Statistically, the top eight for Kansas outscore the top eight for North Carolina, and are nearly identical on the boards (I don't think Kansas is better than North Carolina, I'm just pointing that out since the Tar Heels' talent level was mentioned).

The team as a whole is shooting 49% from the floor and are holding opponents to only 57 points a game.

Since I have bragged about them, they will probably lose on the road today to Iowa State.

Really? By my count Carolina's top 8 in minutes played average 76.7 points per game while Kansas' only average 74.8 per game.
