Freakin' Georgetown. Something told me they would screw me if I picked them to go past the second round.

I just threw out my bracket after one day...I had Georgetown going deep.

OHIO!!! Really? And I watched the Akron Ohio game live...lol I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OHIO HAD A CHANCE!

Okay thank you, also I picked Notre Dame so that SUCKED. And UNLV...and pretty much all the losers.

I did pick a couple upsets like, Washington and St Mary's...but so did a lot of people

I think RM got robbed by some bad foul calls. They also made some dumb steal attempts at the end. The March Madness betting was too stacked against them, I think the NCAA wants the big schools to win.

First things first:

What an opening day for the tourney! 4 OT periods and 3 buzzer-beaters!

That's an interesting take, considering the lower seeds won half of the games yesterday.

In other news, my bracket is still looking surprisingly good. 13-3 on my picks so far, and I only had Georgetown winning one game, so my only Sweet Sixteen team already gone is Marquette, who I had winning only two games. Overall, not great, but not terrible.

First-place in my office pool! I called Cornell (I remember them being a sleeper from an SC story we posted from Paul :Sports Central / Sports Articles and Columns / College Basketball / The Year of David in a League of Goliaths) and also have Kansas State in my Final Four, with Kentucky winning it.

How about Kansas losing to Northern Iowa? Crazy. I, like everyone else, had them in the title game. So much for experience, huh? Talent trumps all. Kentucky is a buzzsaw right now...

I had Kansas winning it all, but Northern Iowa winning wasn't a total shock to me. It was surprising, but NIU had experience (every starter from last year), size (Eglseder), and range (Farokmanesh), so it wasn't shocking.

More surprising to me was Ohio, the 9th place team in the MAC, and a 14 seed, beating the 3 seed, Georgetown, by double digits.

My new favorite to win it all is Ohio State, but Kentucky is really starting to make believe that talent might just trump experience.

I called Cornell too, YEAH! lol.

I got Xavier/Kentucky in the final with Xavier upsetting the CUSE in the elite eight and losing to Kentucky in the final! so that's still hope. My upsets were Washington St. Mary's and Cornell and I picked all those right but I have them losing this round so yeah.

Sorry, but Cornell has zero chance tonight against Kentucky. ZERO.

I still think I will have 3 out of 4 Final Four teams with Duke, UK, and Kansas State. Syracuse, Michigan State, and West Virginia all have major injuries hampering them. The injury to the WV point guard is good for Kentucky as it eliminates their biggest threat in their bracket.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

Which is why I had them losing this round. Because Cornell didn't have a chance. But now that Syracuse and Xavier both lost, I feel wonderful. My bracket is dead.

How crazy is it that the only game most of the experts agree on tonight is Northern Iowa over Michigan State? Nobody outside of Cedar Falls would have guessed that a few months ago, but they are probably as talented as the Spartans if State had Kalen Lucas playing, and without him, the Panthers are simply the better team.

In the other games, I'll take Purdue over Duke (just a gut feeling), and Ohio State and Baylor winning in close games.

I got Ohio State, and Duke. I agree NIU is pretty amazing and will beat Michigan State today, I don't even think it's going to be a close game.

Ohio State just lost, and deservedly so after the way they played in the second half, but that last call seemed to be one of the most egregious no-calls I've seen in the tourney thus far.

But congrats to Tennessee. It's nice to see them in the Elite Eight after the way their year started.

The only question now is if they'll play a 9-seed in the Elite Eight. I say they will.

This has been an exciting tournament, except that none of the teams I picked to win did. The only teams I have left are Kentucky and Duke.
