Unhappy Sens don't meet payroll

I'm back! It's been... quite a while. I don't even remember what avatar I'm using, or what my signature looks like! I decided my first post should be in the NHL forum, since nobody else posts here...

Sens are having a lot of financial woes right now. They couldn't even pay the players! They insist that they will be getting their money in the next couple of days. However, this is a bad sign. I'd hate to see the Sens have to move. It's a great fan base in Ottawa.

Thoughts? You must have some Lee!

I don't think that's possible, Matt.

For the record...

Yeah Nate... get outta the Hockey forum

Well the Sens have big problems. This is the begining of the end for this team I'm afraid. Whats gonna happen to them??

They are such a good team... it would be a shame to break them up. So where would they move to? Can they find a buyer? SO many questions....

I'm fed up with this. I've always said, after the Grizzlies move, that if another team left Canada, I would never watch pro sports again. And I'm serious, if the Sens leave, it would mean for me: no NHL, no MLB, no NBA, and no NFL. Also no US college sports even though I never watched them anhyway 'cuz they're all schools and athletes with big shoe contracts looking to make it big. CIS I would still watch. PGA & tennis I would watch since their athletes have to EARN their pay and what they get paid leads to other promotional contracts ALL BASED ON PERFORMANCE. I would also watch CFL since it is purely Canadian with low budgets, etc.

The Sentors have a low payroll, have made the playoffs for the last 5 seasns (this is #6 in a row) with a good coaching staff and a great core of players. They get in the upper quarter of league attendance with a brand new arena. The gov't won't give them any slack with property breaks, the NHL won't help out with increasing salarise (despite Bettman;s catch phrase "we are commited to keeeping the Canadian clubs where they are prsently located") and it wouldbe a shame to see them leave after 11 years in the NHL and finally getting to something special.

I hope they pulla Minnesota Twins and exceed expectations... except for the Senators, exceeding expectations ins't making the playoffs: it's going all the way.

I say we form a CHL. Pull the Leafs, Habs, Flames, Oilers, Sens and Canucks outta the NHL and go our own way.

Bring back the Jets and Nordiques. Put teams in Regina, Halifax, St Johns, hell even Rankin Inlet should get a team

I'm sick of this too. The NHL will never be a so called major sport and should realise this. Sticking teams in Nashville and Tampa where stupid ideas. The NHL is in serious trouble and is heading for a disaster. More teams will start to have these problems (Sabres, Sens etc) and its a downward spiral..........

Canada is the one that actually OWNS the stanley cup anyway... it was given to "the dominion of canada." NHL just "borrows" it.
