Default ATP Masters Cup

Federer and Agassi are in the finals. What a great tournament it has been! Most of the matches went to the distance, high quality tennis all around.

Couple of points:

I have no problem with the tournament director wanting the "name" players to win, but I do have a problem when he "is" the cheerleader for only American players, tries to influence the line judge's decisions on calls, and gets the ballboys to hold signs supporting certain players. These players worked hard all year to get to this tournament and to have the top person in the tournament's organization chain cheering like a madman for only and only certain players must be bothersome.

This year could be the beginning of new golden era in men's tennis. The top players (Roddick, Ferrero, Federer, Hewitt, Nalbandian, Coria, possibly Safin) , including the wide variety of their gamestyles and personalities should bring men's tennis popularity up further.

Take care

Hey, Mert!

I certainly hope 2004 is a big year for the men, and that Roddick can take some time off to rest now and be ready for another year. He has already hosted SNL and is good for marketing the men's game. I think he needs another young nemesis, perhaps James Blake. That is still to be determined.

Hello Marc,

He already has 2 great young nemesis' in Federer and Ferrero. Hewitt and Safin could also back be in the picture in 2004.

Can't wait..

I think that if Hewitt and Safin would step it up we would have a lot more excitement. We would have a very solid top 10 for the ATP!

Mertov, any news on the radio world for you? I miss the broadcast.

My friend Scott,

Sorry for being absent for so long and not replying. I have had some major changes in my life, everything is going good.

As to the show, unfortunately no other website is available at this time like the one we used for the show. For the time being, the show is on halt. I have had numerous otheremails too. I did not realize so many people listened. I miss doing it too.

I will visit here more often now, and we can discuss anything you wish via the board.

Take care
Mertov
