I'm going out on a limb and saying Hewitt and Hingis.

I woul dlove to see Hingis start off her come back with a big win, of coarse it is still up in the air if she will even play or not.

I think Hewitt will win, but I hope that Brian is right because I would love nothing more than to see Sampras hold a trophy!

Hingis played in Montreal this week for the Rogers AT&T Cup and made it to the Quarter finals (mind you she had a bye first round) and ended up losing to Dokic. Going to be damn tough though with both Williams sisters. BTW today in the Rogers AT&T Cup final Amelie Mauresmo beat Jennifer Capriatti 6-4, 6-1 to win the championship.

I can't tell you how happy I was to see Capriati lose that match! She is only 1-7 in non-slam finals. What a bad record!

Of coarse she is 3-0 in slam finals...

I watched the match and after she lost the first set she didnt seem to care as Mauresmo killed her 6-1 in the next set for the match. It was a very sloppy performence to say the least.

Oh well.

Well The U.S is just around the corner, draws were released today. Sampras gets Albert Portas first round. This tournament has to be my second favorite next to Wimbledon.

Kournikova already lost. Too bad after a promising summer. She missed some overhead slams which were gimmes. The crowd was really giving her a hard time! She has repeatedly said that tennis is still her number one priority.

Kournikova was a HUGE dissapointment, but not a suprise.

Capriat and Venus both double bageled their opponents. How sad. No depth in the women's game, and too much in the men's.

Tough for Kournikova, wouldnt mind seeing her in another match

Capriati, Serena, Venus, Hingis (with some trouble) all advance.

Safin (broke a record low 2 rackets), and Roddick advance.

Pete tommorow. Good luck!

Okay, I caught some U.S. Open action for the first time today. Sampras advanced in straight sets, he looked good! He has an easy path until the third round when the heavy-hitters can hurt him. Speaking of Kournikova, I think she has the physical game -- a great backhand and serve, her forehand is just a little wobbly and she is weak mentally -- all the attention and pressure prevents her from doing her best. That's why she excels in doubles, it's less pressure and attention.

Anyone see Serena's attire? It looked like it was painted on...

What, yo umean she was wearing clothes? She looked pretty much naked to me. And they made Tommy Haas go change his sleevless shirt before he took the court last night, what a joke! I think he shoudl come out wearing what Serena did and see what they say. Of coarse I would have to turn the tv off.

Kournikova and Hingis advanced in doubles. Another 3 setter for Hingis, but it is what she needs, she needs that court time!

Yeah, I dont see a big deal with the sleevless shirt being worn by Haas. He was struggling last night just barely escaped a 5 set match, looks like his shoulder is really bothering him still. Sampras advanced in straight sets. Currently watching Hewitt.
