Default Agassi or Hewitt as #1.

Starting Tuesday we will see the ATP year end tournament, which will also determine the yera end #1 player for 2002. Hewitt is ahead as of now, but if Agassi wins it and Hewitt has a bad tournament, Agassi an take over the #1 spot.

Bad news for Hewitt, he plays Safin first round. He just lost to Safin in the fnals of a tournament last week, so he will have to step it up extremely early.

I hope to see Hewitt stay #1, he has played better tennis this year and won a slam. He will have to beat Safin to keep the pressure on Agassi.

If they both meet in the draw, and Hewitt gets creamed by Agassi, I think that means Hewitt got far enough in the draw that Hewitt retains he #1 spot.

Whoever is #1 out of the two deserve it. Both had great years. I'm a fan of both, I love Agassi's style and his power game, and I love Hewitt's determination and his will to play no matter what.

Congrats to Hewitt, who ended up No. 1 after an Agassi loss!

Hewitt certainly had a good year and deserved the #1 ranking, but Agassi kept it interesting until hi slast 2 tournaments, which he couldn't of done worse in!

There is always 2003. Agassi will certainly be a force. Look for him to well in the AO, he always trains hard thi stime of year.

L. Hewitt deserves the #1 ranking.
Agassi's bad luck is that his good buddy Sampras came to play in the US Open finals. If Sampras was the same player that he has been for the last 2 years Agassi would have had 70 more points in the bag and entered the Masters Cup ranked #1. In that case one victory in the group matches would have sufficed to lock the #1 ranking..

Didn't some big name in the past say "You can't make history with 'if's"????
;o)))))

I agree that the year end for tennis isn't as exciting as the slams, but boring? hmmm

Default Agassi and his glory

Agassi is playing great tennis. He has a fast game, as you all well know. I am hoping he will beat Rainer Schuettler. Agassi is in perfect physical condition, and I hope eventually his ranking will be number 1. He deserves it.

Btw, does anyone know what time that the Agassi/Schuettler match will be shown in EST and on what channel. ESPN or ESPN2? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
