Default Guilty or set up...

or does it even matter since he can't stay out of the news...

Regardless either way, it'll be interesting to see what happens now that he'll be firmly back on Goodell's radar.

Excerpt:

Bengals WR Henry charged with assault

CINCINNATI (AP) - Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry has been accused of punching an 18-year-old man in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Henry, 24, was charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal damaging in the Monday incident in Cincinnati. A warrant for his arrest was issued in Hamilton County Municipal Court.

The player has had a string of problems with police. He most recently was in court last week after being ticketed for driving with expired Kentucky license plates. He paid $149, according to the Hamilton County Municipal Court records.

Henry, who was arrested four times during a 14-month span, was suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for the first half of last season for repeatedly violating the league's conduct policy.

The player's agent, Marvin Frazier, said Henry gave him a different version of events but declined to elaborate.

"I was told it didn't happen that way," Frazier said.

According to an affidavit filed in Hamilton County, Henry was identified by Gregory Meyer, whose hometown was not listed, and an eyewitness. The eyewitness claimed Henry punched Meyer, causing "visible injury." Henry then threw a beer bottle at Meyer's car, breaking the rear passenger window, according to the affidavit.

After his most recent arrest, Henry pleaded guilty to letting minors drink alcohol in a hotel room he had rented. He served two days in jail.

The Bengals issued a statement expressing frustration with Henry when he was in traffic court a year ago for driving with a suspended license.

It looks like the Bengals will be without Henry for another extended period of time. I would not be surprised if he is cut loose before the league even has a chance to suspend him.

It just amazes me how colossally stupid some of these guys are.

And there you have it, Chris Henry is no longer gainfully employed by the Cincinnati Bengals:

Henry's new training:
"Do you want fries with that?"

Sub plot:

"Are you sure? Man, they can't let him go. That dude is good. He's very, very good," Johnson said on 1050 ESPN New York.

"We need him. Those are not easy shoes to fill, regardless of the trouble he has gotten into in the past," Johnson said.

What a bright Bengal future...

It is beginning to look like it is going to be a long year in Cincy for Bengals fans. Henry's gone for good, Hoashamizzilli is reportedly not happy with his contract and God only knows where Chad Johnson's head is at and whether or not he is even going to show up to camp this summer.

If nothing else, hopefully this will put an end to the Chad Johnson-to-Philly delusions, once and for all.

Just give me Devin Thomas, James Hardy, or even Donnie Avery in the draft, and I'll be happy - and if it's Avery, be on the look out for all sorts of anti-Donovan McNabb conspiracy theories, since Avery spent most of his college days catching passes from none other than Kevin "Corn on the" Kolb.

But Avery isn't considered to be any kind of a real prospect at all and from what I have read he is a terrible route runner, lacks any kind of toughness, struggles against press coverage and all he really brings to the table is straight line speed. He would do nothing to significantly enhance the WRs they already have.

But just think of how much the Eagles drafting Donnie Avery would make Donovan McNabb squirm!

Well, Henry is now free to travel out of state to try out for perspective teams:

Question is is anyone really interested until they find out the outcome of his court case and potential suspension from the league is?

Yea, I don't see a long list of teams lining up for a repeat offender especially when you have to wait for the courts & more importantly, Goodell, to get their hooks out of him.

It will be interesting to see what the prosecution comes up with in the way of a motive.

Did this Gregory Meyer put lime juice in Chris Henry's snuff box, like Jeremy May did to Matt Brown on The Ultimate Fighter?
