Default Super Bowl XLIII: Arizona Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Intriguing matchup. The Cardinals are the team no one picked with an explosive offense, while the Steelers are the team with a dominant defense. So you have the classic battle there. Both QBs have won Super Bowls, and both coaches have not been here before. Who ya got? I'm taking the Steelers, though the Cardinals are a nice story. But a lot can happen before Feb. 1. Dear Big Ben: no motorcycle rides, okay?

I'm going for the Cardinals... they deserve it the most, imo...

I expect the Steelers to win, but I'll be rooting for the Cards.

Eh... I guess I'm rooting for the Cards... since they are the underdogs.

Steelers played great football all season.. the Cards showed up some Sunday and not on others so I'm wondering if they win show up for SB Sunday.

I'd have loved to see the results of an audit on the bank balances of the officials who worked the Arizona game on Sunday (on one play Jason Avant was mugged worse than the Central Park jogger - and no flag?).

So I hope Pittsburgh destroys them.

Yup.... cant believe there was no flag on that play... that was horrible.

Off topic, but it is me or have there just been more than usual bad or non calls this season?

Of course if the NFL makes officiating a year-round position (bring back NFL Europe if necessary, just to keep them working) - and pays it accordingly - the number of bad calls, however many there have been up to this point, will plummet.

I am picking the Steelers, but something tells me I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals win. Don't they seem like the team of destiny this year? And of course, you can't discount their coaching staff's familiarity with the Steelers and their personnel. Ken Wisenhunt knows the opponent cuz he coached them. That's something...

I hear ya Marc.. they do seem like the team of destiny. I thought fure sure they (and SD) would be ousted first round with their weak records.... but AZ just keeps on keeping on!

Unselfish move by Fitzgerald to restructure his contract to keep teammate Boldin: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playof...ory?id=3867088

You don't often see this. Nice!

Steelers 3, Cards 2 in the voting. More than 5 people must care about the freaking SUPER BOWL!

Logic says the Steelers will crush them, but the Cards do have this feeling of destiny around them and are the hottest team, so I honestly can see it going either way.

But there are two things to point out here. One is the Cardinals don't need him to restructure his deal as they are like $40 mil under next year's cap already. Secondly, the situation has probably deteriorated to the point where Boldin has no desire to be there no matter how much they pay him.

I believe it all basically boils down to the fact that he feels disrespected because they saw fit to take care of Fitzgerald before him and he is the senior player on the team and his numbers are arguably as good as Fitzgerald's over the years.
