Default [SCP-E.Finals] series n: (2) DEVILS vs OTT/PHI

The Devils are through and thus, here is the pre-series thread for the Eastern Conference Finals... I'm taking Jersey if Philly wins, and Ottawa if they win.

I hope the Sens get here.... if they do they'll beat the Devils.

Default [SCP-E.Finals] series n: (1) SENS vs DEVILS (2)

Round 3 is set in the East as the Sens and Devils face off for the Campbell Trophy (or is it the Clarence Trophy??... I always get them mixed up ) and the opportunity to represent the East in the Stanley Cup Finals. I'm taking the Sens in 7.

I'm not sold on Jersey's offence AT ALL.

Lalime is just as hot as Brodeur and he actually has offence in front of him.

Sens in 5

I took the Sens in 6 in this one. The Devils have the least amount of GA (tied w/Philly) but are 7th in the East in GF in the regular season.

I don't think the Devils will have enough offence either in this series. It shoudl be a dandy, and Ottawa will be the first Eastern team since '93 to represent Canada in the Finals.

Sens in 7. i think NJ can hang with Ottawa enough in 3 games to win them especially with Brodeur in net but i don't think the offense can produce enough to get 4 wins. i'm taking Ottawa but if NJ did win i wouldn't be surprised

No. It's 2-1 now.

I only saw the 1st and 3rd periods of this game. Kinda strange how no one saw that 2nd goal by Jersey 'till afterwards. I thought it went in when I saw it (live), but I thought it just hit the post since nothing happened. I also thought the goal light went on but Ron told us afterwards it didn't... after seeing the replay it was just 3 guys in a row wearing away Devil uniforms

Brodeur was great... so was Lalime... and Don was right -- Alfredsson needs to show up. The Sens should come back big Saturday night... and why isn't the biggest guy in the ENTIRE LEAGUE, Zdeno Chara, in front of Brodeur?... at least during the powerplay?? The Sens have no heart right now and it seems they just aren't playing 100%.

How did you like that trap Jersey put on the Sens, Lee?

Another horrific NHL playoff game. Ottawa is the only team left that likes to play the open style. But when you face a team like Jersey they shut things down. And people still wonder why nobody comes out to the games there!

Well, Burns said at hte post-game conference that "people get held up in traffic and by the middle of the first it's full.... I didn't see one empty seat when the game got going" ...kinda like Blue Jay games... at least at hte one I went to, there was about 2 people at the stadium before the opening pitch... by mid-1st everyone was there... strange.... very strange....

Interesting stat: yesterday's loss was the first time Ottawa lost in these playoffs having scored at least 1 goal... their other 4 losses were shut-out losses

I never saw this game 'cuz I don't have TV yet :redhot: ....but I listened to it on team1200.com so I can't say much about it. I really don't get how Spezza was the #1 but perhaps he was more effective than you can describe on radio... ya he had a goal and an assist on a cheesy goal that Brodeur scored but he only played 11 minutes!.... ah well -- good for him but I would've thought Lalime would be #1... then again I didn't see the game so what do I know

It doesnt' matter though: the Sens won for the first time in franchise history when facing elimination and we'll see the Devils back in Ottawa Friday night
