Default Hurricane Fabian

Well, Fabian came right across Bermuda. I'm back in Canada and have been for a couple of weeks so I wasn't home when the hurricane came across. It did do quite a bit of damage and there are 3 missing (presumed dead) and 1 confirmed death. For those interested in the power of mother nature...

It's pretty amazing how much damage a hurricane can do!

I don't think the hurricane had crossed the island when you stopped by last Lee, I think I would have mentioned it if it had.

Yep, my family is fine, thankfully! Though, it is quite sad. There is a family next door to us and the mother of the house is a civil duty officer. She was workin when it came through the island and called her family at 2pm on friday to let them know she was coming home...she never made it. She had to cross a bridge on her way home and it's unclear exactly what happened but everyone in the car with her (her and two other officers) were washed off the bridge. One body has been found but not the other two. It's pretty sad because they live RIGHT next to us. My mom lives in condo's and she lives in Unit #7 and they live in Unit #8.

here is the bridge she tried to cross....the 4 foot wall protecting cars from the water is completely gone...its much longer than this but I havent found a better picture yet:

That before and after is crazy! That was a neat looking rock although it was only the first time I'd seen it

yeah, it's pretty crazy! Thankfully, mostly every house remained...at most they suffered minor roof damage.

That "after" pic looks like the Jersey shore... *shivers* Bermuda is still a beautiful place and I'm glad most made it out okay. Ravi and Lee should take their picture together and post it on here.
