Well, the problem is if they want to move Hill then they will probably have to try and give him 25-30 minutes a game to pique any real interest unless they decide to just dump him for whatever they can get. Besides, he still looked like he had something to offer before he went out with hernia injury. At least he is not coming off of a foot/ankle injury this time around.

I think his contract alone ($17m) will be enough to entice teams looking to stay below the luxury in '07. I could see a Penny Hardaway situation, except Orlando would be the one dealing this time.

I think Hill can play adequately still, but if I were the Orlando, I'd focus on the future.

The thing is if I am Orlando I think I hold onto that contract unless someone gives a compelling reason to dump it or I don't have to take anything too bad back in return to unload it. They will probably go into next summer with somewhere between 30-33 million in commited salary for '07-08 and there could be some compelling names on the market they may be the missing piece they need to get them over the top.

The Cavs signed Scot Pollard today. Desperate times call for desperate measures...I guess.

So he'll play the 4 behind Gooden?

Nah, Pollard is a center he'll likely backup Ilgauskas. I thought Sideshow Varejao was the backup PF.

Shaq: When I was coming up, I had to out-do Alonzo and Christian Laettner first. Once I out-did them, now I could get to Ewing, Robinson, Sabonis and Parish. Basically, it's a karate move. You gotta fight all the karate guys, and once you kill them off, now you gotta get to the ninjas. Once you get through the ninjas, now you gotta get to the showmen.

Christ. I am so sick of, as a Hawks fan, hearing the management talk about rebuilding. Them getting rid of Harrington for a 2st rd pick next year, which, knowing Indiana won't be too high up, is just stupid. They can't keep going young over and over and expect the fans (the few they have left) to pu up with the crap. If they were looking to get rid of a forward, they should have unloaded Josh I-don't-know-how-to-play-offense-or-D Childress.

Haven't the Hawks been re-building since 'Nique retired?

I get why they dumped Harrington. He didn't really want to be there in the first place and better to get something rather than nothing for him. Besides, from everything I have read Marvin Williams is looking like he might live up to the hype and getting Harrington out of the way frees up more minutes for him.

The Hawks still need to get a real PG instead of taking guys who are journeymen PGs who would otherwise ride the pine if they were on a playoff team.
