Default Australian Open

Other than Moya & Grosjean losing, no big surprises so far. Nadal beating Youzhny is no surprise..

Roddick did not look too sharp. Could Rusedski take him maybe?

Williams are back, can the Russians overcome them?

Some very good matches so far.

Federer is going to mop the floor against all competition. I don't see anybody on the men's side who has a legitimate shot against him.

Yeah, do you guys think Roddick will ever be able to rise into a more consistent contender?

And is there any chance of Martina Hingis returning?

Will the Williams sisters continue to be forces, or will their non-tennis interests keep them away?

Ok..
Here is my upset pick..
Davydenko over Roddick in quarterfinals..

Federer's draw is very tough. He faces Agassi, then the winner of Hrbaty and Safin (Hrbaty is one of the very few who defeated him last year and Safin at his best can bother Federer).

In the women's draw I pick Serena to win..

Let's hear some other predictions, put your picks out, it's part of the fun.

Don't know much about tennis, but here goes.

Mens: Federer. The disparity between him and Roddick is huge.
Womens: Davenport.

Frankly, I don't see Serena playing full-time in another two years, not with everything else she can do.

Everyone favorite tennis player has made the Semifinals. Sharapova. She faces Serena.

I don't see Roddick winning. He's overrated. I think Federer is going to win over Hewitt in the finals. Federer is just too good.

Hewitt is playing with some huge intensity. I have no idea how some Aussies supposedly dislike him for being too emotional on the court, ridiculous.

Surprise Surprise Agassi is done. I feel for him, it'd be nice to see him win one more major before he retires, but lasting two weeks is just way too tough.

What a @#%^ing 3rd set between Sharapova and Serena. Serena was on her game. I may have to recant my Davenport prediction in the finals.

The impossible has occurred..
Safin defeated Federer. By the way, I heard McEnroe say "Safin played the perfect match". Despite the perfect match he still had to battle 4.5 hours, save a match point in the fourth set and go to 9-7 in the fifth..

Here is my picks for men's title now that Federer is gone:
Safin 33.3%
Roddick 33.3%
Hewitt 33.3%

I hope Hewitt gets it for the home crowd.

Davenport looked ill (either physically or mentally) during the finals. Something wasn't right.

Don't know what was up with Davenport. I guess she's tired.
Maybe it's an age thing. 5 years difference between hers and Serena's age.
