Default No Baseball on Memorial Day?

Does anyone else find it almost un-American that there is not one baseball game on ESPN or ESPN2 today? Instead we are treated to the American past times of NCAA Lacrosse, poker, and paintball. Are you kidding me? I get showing the Lax championship but paintball and poker instead of baseball? They are not even showing their regular Monday Night game that they always show. In the past ESPN has always shown four or five games on Memorial Day between ESPN and the deuce. Just another example of how ESPN is going downhill and how I have little to no time for them anymore.

Well, they are trying to "expand" our viewing choices by showing these.
I, personally, don't mind them showing Lacrosse. No one else would do it and it is an interesting game to watch. A combination of basketball and hockey.

Also, if you want to find baseball, check out Fox Sports Net in your area.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait.....what?!

It's 12:11 right now and I REFUSE to believe that there will not be baseball on both ESPN and the deuce in 49 minutes (well, OK, so one game will start on ESPN at 1 and another probably at 2).

This is damn ridiculous. What the hell is on ESPN2 this afternoon? TENNIS?!?! Then PAINTBALL?!

There should be a bare minimum of FOUR baseball games on ESPN networks on Memorial Day.

They could show the single greatest tennis match ever at 1pm and I would still ask where the hell the baseball is at.

Tennis...paintball...poker...lacrosse...no baseball...what the hell is going on?!

This is damn ridiculous. This has to be a joke.

I completely agree!!! I was flipping through the channels thinking they would have some games on today, but the only one I could find was the Braves/Dodgers on TBS.....

Like I said I get them showing the Lax game since it was the D-I Final, but an afternoon of paintball and poker is lunacy on Memorial Day.

Luckily I paid for the MLB Extra Innings package or I would have had to suffer this afternoon.

How many years has it been since the NBA went to the night game on Memorial Day? I'm too senile to say for sure, but it would be nice to have the game during the day.

Couldn't agree more with everyone. This is why I got the MLB ticket... Our local coverage sucks (well, I am on a friggen island... but hey). I cannot stand it that on Saturdays there is no MLB on ESPN. And only 1 game on Sunday. I love Sun Night MLB, but give me one early at 7am or something (Sun night comes on at 2pm here).... or two games on Sat, then one on Sun.:bash:

FOX owns the broadcast rights to the Saturday games so having Extra Innings doesn't do much good if your team is halfway decent odds are FOX will have it as part of its regional broadcast which is another bone of contention I have. The bulk of Saturday games we get here are the freakin' Braves. What's the point of that when I can watch them on TBS any other time?
