Default Team USA

Team USA throttled Team China yesterday 119-73. LeBron lead the way with 23 and Carmelo threw in 19....Does anyone else feel that this team with the superstars we have in LeBron, Carmelo and Wade that this could be the next Dream Team maybe in the next olympics?

I didn't hear anything about it...I only caught the first half of the game so maybe it happened later.

It could be the next Dream Team, but before I would put them there, they have to have perfect runs in this, and the 2008 Olympics. Every team since the Dream Team has been thought of as the next Dream Team, but as we know, no one's come close.

But not every team has had a trio of legit superstars like this one since Magic, Michael and Bird. BTW I'm proud to say LeBron will probably be named the captain of the team

It turns out in the USA's third game against Brazil, Carmelo did hurt his knee and sat around the rest of the game. USA won 90-86.

Anthony's knee injury appears minor ... hyperextended knee. But I am encouraged about this team's play and thrilled to see it. I think the USA has a chip on its shoulder and wants to re-establish itself as a basketball superpower, especially in light of our pathetic play in the World Cup. Go USA!

Are any of these games on TV?

The team looks pretty good this year. I don't think the U.S. has a very good post game, but if they can continue to shoot 40% from three-point range, no one will be able to come close to them.

If Amare doesn't get cut (Has he been cut?) then that should be a boost when he comes back. Right now they have LeBron playing the 4 so that tells you that they are playing very small. Dwight Howard started at center for them against China...At least we'll be able to run.

No, nobody gets 'cut' from the team they simply select 12 from the pool of 24 that are in camp to play in the tournaments. Amare was left off the squad because his knee is not where it needs to be for him to play full speed.

How can anyone compare w/the original Dream Team? Jordan, Magic, Larry, Charles, Ewing (wasn't Malone and Stockton there to?) That is a scary team.

I believe Tim Hardaway, Chris Mullin, and Reggie Miller were on there as well.

Mullin took Nique's place, correct? I remember I was almost in tears when Nique got hurt before the Games. That was the beginning of the end for him in Atl.
