Default Gillispie making UK look bad with ESPN reporter...

http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/espner...-advance-22375

You have to watch the videos in that link. Not only does Coach come off as a babbling idiot, but he is rude. Not a good representation of the university. But now I just saw the rumor is he is acting that way because Edwards declined his advances ... very interesting. What do you all think of this? Is he out of line? Do you believe the rumors?

The interesting thing: Edwards is working Tuesday night's game vs. Vanderbilt on ESPN, so we have round three...

If it is true he needs to be mindful of how Houston Nutt lost his job in Arkansas. From what I remember boosters used his tryst with a local reporter or TV personality as a reason to get him out of there.

If Gillispie does not soon turn things around UK boosters could very well do the same to him.

I hope for Kentucky's sake that they keep him around. He will only help their program get better over time and it will have a lasting effect when he is gone. Don't forget that these reporters bait these guys and push their buttons constantly. Who knows if the rumor is true, it's just that, who leaked it, her maybe to add more to her story and give herself more publicity. I would love to know the truth.....

Edwards interviewed the Vandy coach instead of Gillispie last night. Too bad, I was sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation. Another disappointing UK loss, but without Patterson, a major loss. Still, I think UK can win the SEC East if Patterson comes back. I agree with mthm142 that we have to be patient with Coach as he gets his players and system in place.

Gillispie lost the job, but I doubt it was b/c of Edwards. It was just more fuel to add to the fire. Losing basketball at UK is simply not tolerated.

However, what would be more interesting is the reactions if the team was winning. Remember Mike DuBose? He was on the hot seat at Alabama, but that same year he won the SEC, so he went from villian to hero instantly.

As for Nutt, read my archived article for one, but note as well, a Boise State player said that Nutt was "a used-car salesman" when he left Boise for Arkansas. No doubt about it, that player was dead on.

Hey, Jean! :wavey: He's a writer for SC.

The thing with Edwards was just a part of the problem. It was a culmination of things and he simply wasn't the personality fit for the position.
