Really??

Moderators are chosen by Marc (and fellow Mod's) after they have proven that they are committed to SC and have been here for more than 3 posts.

I'm not saying you'll never be a moderator... but you need to prove your worth and there are others ahead of you who are waiting to be a moderator.

So my advise is this: Keep on contributing to SC by participating in all the dicussions and you never know. But just asking to be a mod is going to get you no-where.

I'm in the same boat as Lee. When time constraints ended my SC writing career I asked to co-mod with catman on the MLB boards. And that's where I've been since then.

It's fun to search for your name on Google and actually see your articles on different sites.

Yes, if you want to become a moderator, it doesn't especially matter who you tell it to or if you just tell everyone. Marc and the mods pick their own mods, and only then when there are spots.

I didn't write even 20 articles to the main site, but wrote probably 50 articles or more in single posts in my earlier days. I guess I still churn out the more than healthy post/novel, though.

When I contributed my tenth or so article, Marc made me a fully fledged staffer with profile and encouraged me to become active on the message boards. I'm glad I did, and I'm embarrassed to say that I asked Marc if, as a perk to being a staffer, I would be made a moderator. But I wouldn't have asked that if I was just walking in the entire site cold, like at least three guys have. That's just hilarious, especially the guy (I think the thread is still out there) of the guy requesting to be a moderator who spelled about half his words right. And the guy above *almost* seems to be INSTRUCTING someone to make him a moderator. LOL!

Kevin...

This happens every once in awhile on the boards. Someone comes on here with like 5 posts or less and asks to be moderator...LOL.

I won't comment on the spelling portion of your post Kevin. As we all know, I would flunk out of a 3rd grade spelling bee...LOL.
