I'm not insulting anyone, simply poking at those too damn cheap to pay $4.95 a month to use an amazing service.

Just wait until Napster goes public. If you want a stock tip, here's one: BUY NAPSTER!

they won't go public for a long time though, the $10mil donations they get are good enough for what they need.

Fanning is set for life now, and Napsters Board of Directors has to charge the $4.95 a month to get the RIAA, and Dr. Gay (er. Dre?) as well as other lame artists off their back.

I bet napster will get $.05 of every signup. Besides, they won't be able to charge $$$ until Napster releases a final version of the software.

They're already teamed up with CDNOW, so I'm assuming that a full version 1.0 of Napster will be coming out by this summer, in which case, they will begin charging a monthly fee, and I will promptly pay it.

Those of you who are too cheap, check these sites out:

or just go to a good search engine like http://www.google.com and search for "Artist MP3."

Pathetic that you have to whine about such things, those of you who are whining.

I am the same way. Why would I pay for something I could get for free? Hmm, waste $5 or get it for $0.....
Ya know what I would say.

Yeah but you're calling all of us cheap. Some people would rather get free MP3's than to pay a monthly bill to use a program to get them.

Audio Galaxy is better than napster anyway. If you get booted or go off line in the middle of a download, it doesnt restaret the download like with Napster. It just picks up where you left off.

Napster is so hard to get on sometimes. And I hate the people with 14.4's downloading off me at 1 k/sec.

I agree with Jake. If you put alot of work into something you would want to be compensated, and its not like they are asking for that much. I mean com'on you will pay $5 for a meal and half at McDonalds but not to download 100 of your favorite songs??

That is pretty cheap, hopefully other sites like audiogalaxy will catch on and seek liscencing too. I would use Napster but we cant from the University, they have truly blocked it, including Napigator. Hopefully they will remove that ban when Napster becomes legit, which I definitely commend them for doing it. I am especially happy that BMG dropped the suit and decided to work with them. I think that was a corageous and noble move, especially when they were in it with other major labels.

you can crack the ban...

not that tough. I'm sure the University is just networked on a T3, or a couple T1 lines which can easily be re-routed, and allow you full access to anything you want =)

Really, it just bans the servers Napster uses, so just use gnutella, or FTPs....if you really want "it" you can get "it."

Breathing the air costs 5.00 a month. Sure you could just breathe it for free with out paying, but breathing is an amazing thing.

Of course air isn't copyrighted. Air wasn't written or created by any sole entity except for God (No... don't start that type of thread ).
