Default Is No. 8 Cincinnati for real?

The 6-0 Bearcats defeated No. 21-ranked South Florida last night: No. 8 Bearcats take down No. 21 Bulls in Tampa; Pike injured - NCAA College Football Recap - ESPN

Problem is QB Tony Pike hurt his arm that he injured last year and will miss at least he next game. Cincy is definitely one of the big surprises, but do they have any shot at a BCS game? My guess is they'll be shunned and relegated to a lesser bowl.

Did I miss something? I thought the Big East champ was still guaranteed a BCS bowl. As long as they win the conference they will get a BCS game. They played Va Tech in the Orange Bowl this past January.

If they get past Pittsburgh and West Virginia then they will be in the Orange Bowl, likely against Va Tech, again.

They think Pike may need surgery on his wrist again and if that is the case I don't know they get past Pittsburgh without him.

They have no shot at the title game is that is what you are really asking. Their schedule is lousy this year.

Between these guys and the Bengals, I'd say it's a pretty awesome year to be a football fan in Cincinnati.

And also Philadelphia: Can you believe that Temple is 4-2? When was the last time that happened?

My bad, doublee. I guess it's kind of a glass ceiling for Cincy. As good as they may be, they know they can't win a national title because their schedule isn't good enough. So really, why would any kid with a choice want to play for a program that can't legitimately challenge for a title? To think you can go undefeated and still only get to a B-level BCS bowl...

But the Vikings can, and probably will, win the NFC title because their schedule is so easy they're all but assured of getting home field throughout the playoffs.

Which is more unfair?

I don't know I think the Saints schedule sets up a bit nicer than the Vikings does. The Vikings have more games where the elements are a potential factor than the Saints do.
