Default Early Conference Rankings

Why not?

1. SEC
2. Big 12
3. Big Ten
4. ACC
5. Pac-10
6. "Big" East

Well theres my early conference rankings. I'm probably the only person on the boards who doesn't think that the ACC will be a super-conference this year, so go ahead everyone and tell me how much I "don't know" about college football and what teams "will do" this year.

I have no idea, but I think the SEC will have a down year and the ACC won't be as good as advertised, at least the big names of the ACC, but I think UVA and Clemson will jump out and have big years, but Miami, VA Tech, and FSU will not be good enough for the ACC to run away with the claim of best conference like everybody thinks.

So, 33, you and someone else are banging UVa's drum. I did that last year and was sorely disappointed. Why do you think they're going to be any better than mediocre again this year? They're playing with a new QB... New defensive captain...
I personally think UVa is set up to be pretty terrible this year. But, I haven't followed them through the offseason, so...

I'm not quite ready to start determining what conference will be viewed as best come next January, though.

This year is going to be a down year for the Big Ten. Both Michigan and Ohio State are breaking in new QB's and there's been a lot of talent lost from last year's top squads.

1. SEC
2. ACC
3. Big Ten
4. Pac-10
5. Big East
6. Mountain West
7. Conference USA
8. MAC
9. WAC
10. Sun Belt

Alex,

You seemed to have forgotten about the Big12 somewhere in that mix...

1. Big 12
2. Atlantic Coast Conference
3. South Eastern Conference
4. Big Ten
5. Pacific-10
6. Big East
7.
8.

Dave, Virginia will have a great defense and returns alot and they have had great success recruiting. I just see their defense being a surprise and dominating. But, that's just me.

But, dominating enough to contain Maryland, Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech? If UVa can beat more than one of those teams, I'd be REALLY surprised...

Pretty early, but I've got a few preseason guides I've thumbed through...some early figures to consider...

SEC...3 ROADS GAMES OUT OF CONFERENCE FOR THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE...CHICKEN S**** ! ( 12 member conf)

Big Ten...Not sure, don't have book in front of me, but I believe we have 11 non-conf road games, and we're going out in Pac Ten country too. (11 member conf)

What a sad state of affairs. My favorite is Auburn's non-conf schedule...look it up for yourself, if I print it, no one will believe me what these cowards lined up this year.

Hard to rank them, but according to the road non-conf games, once again the Big Ten and Pac Ten travel the most, farthest, and play the toughest. I'm putting it like this...

1. Big Ten
2. Pac Ten
3. No one else...line some one up please...

I'll give the Big East a bye because they are in such disaray, but they even managed to get some decent games together...

shame on the SEC.

78-- Sounds typical.

Glad to hear from you again. You teased us a while back, and then vanished again. (Unless you've been doing all your posting in the NBA Forum, which I've been skipping pretty much since last August.)

LOL...Dave, you would expect nothing less from me then a totally pro-Midwest/Big Ten rant for my first post back....would ya?...LOL.

I came back, thought I was going to be here, but my temporary job screwed me all up. Back to teaching this August though ! I've finally realized I can't work in the private sector, I'm too anti-The Man for such matters. It will be nice to live high off the tax payers money and have the safety net of the union again...LOL.

Back on topic...here's the SEC's away non-conf games this year...
Florida at Fla St.
Mississippi at Wyoming

Pathetic ? I do believe so.
