Default Will Adam Laroche Help Pittsburgh Win in 2007

I will say they will win 10 to 15 more games this season with him.

In today's action they are leading the Cardinals 6-1 in the eighth. Adam LaRoche hit a three run blast earlier in the game.

I think as he gets more comfortable with the team he will hit more HR's and help them win more games, but Pitt still needs good starting pitching and a good bullpen to win consistently like most teams.

Tom Gorzelanny is pitching for Pitt today and has allowed two hits through seven innings and only one earned run. This kid is only 24. He is pitching against a tough lineup as a rule.

Seeing as he is hitting just .116 with 5 RBIs in his first 11 games I'd say he has long way to go before he is considered an impact player for the Pirates.

I think Tom Gorzelanny will have more of an impact than LaRoche, at least for the next few weeks. His stuff was absolutely filthy yesterday, and I'm glad to see it. Hes a good kid.

I agree he's not hitting to well right now, but I think he will come around and be that impact player.

If LaRoche can hit 25-30 homers, .260, and drive in 85-100, the Pirates will be pleased. He plays pretty well, defensively, at 1B.

He hasn't found himself yet as a Pirate, but I think he will soon.

He led his team to victory last night against the Houston Astros in the 16th inning.
