Default Will Any Runner Reach 2,000 Yards This Season?

Jamal Lewis has 1,442 yards rushing so far and Deuce McAllister has over 1,300 yards. Anyone think these two runners have a chance at 2,000 yards? I think Deuce would have the best chance. I love his style of running. Ahman Green has looked mighty impressive too.

Deuce has been beyond great season, and I think he has had 9 straight 100 yard games, which is unheard of in the NFL. He is on the best roll for a possible 2,000, and he does play against 3 teams who are not headed for the playoffs in the Giants, Bucs, and Jags. Jags defense has been playing very good as of late though and Deuce also has to run against Dallas in the last game of the season.

Lewis has a very good shot, for no other reason than he gets to run against the Cleveland Browns again. Plus he runs against Oakland as well.

Green has decent chances as well playing against the likes of San Diego, Oakland, and Chicago in some of the games they have left.

It is interesting that all 3 of these running back's teams are fighting for their playoff lives, yet all of these guys have a legit shot at 2,000 yards.

No......Terrell Davis and Barry Sanders both had well over 1,600 yards at this point in the season. Jamal has to get over 600 yards in 4 games to get to 2,000.

Purple, don't forget that Jamal also has a date with Cleveland in the offing. Last time he saw them, he got nearly 300. While that can't be expected to happen again, I'd expect a good 150-200 yard game almost by default.

That means he has to have one more outstanding game or three average games (for him this year, that is), and he's knockin' on that door loudly.

Jamal should run right through Cleveland and never stop.
