So you guys have any opinion on Al Davis losing his $1 billion lawsuit against the N.F.L. the other day? Personally, I think Davis is kind of a sad guy. He's an old guy and he's going to die in court. He sues the City of Oakland because he felt they "swindled" him on the lease deal at the Oakland Coliseum (or as *bah* commercialism would call it, "The Networks Associate Coliseum"). He sues the N.F.L. because he feels they prevented him from staying in L.A.

And then he screws the Raiders' fans with the personal seat licenses. I feel so sorry for the Raiders' fans in Oakland. This last lawsuit pretty much made a statement by Davis that "no, I don't want to stay in Oakland. I'd rather be in L.A.". What a slap in the face to the Raiders' fans up here. And he lost one of his lawsuits against the city of Oakland earlier this year too so Davis can't break his lease and has to stay in Oakland for the next 10 years whether he likes it or not.

And unfortunately for Al because of N.F.L. by-laws he has to pay both his legal fees and the other N.F.L. owners' legal fees (which I heard is about $10 million). The other owners are pissed too, mostly because they felt the lawsuit was flimsy to begin with.

Al, smell the roses already. Instead of suing everyone to get your way, how about putting that money that goes to your legal fees into your team so your team can sign some quality free agents or use that money to lower ticket prices so Oakland can actually sell out some of their home games instead of being embarrassingly empty almost every home game.

I haven't been following this much, actually. But, I read your points and agree with you, Spike. Some people should just stop whining and deal with it.

I know, it's like the Raiders' slogan, "Committment to Excellence".

With Al Davis, it's like "Committment to the Court Room".
