Full disclosure: I predicted these teams to finish 3rd (Sox) and 4th (Stros) in their division. So if you want a prediction to go against and win some money, i choose the Sox to win (that means you should pick Houston-- TWO FOR THE MONEY!!!!) [That phrase has to have a betting-related meaning, right? Otherwise they wouldn't name a betting movie after it... would they? This is the best i could come up with.]

Reasoning for pick: Sox on a roll, great at manufacturing runs in pitchers' duels.

Real reasoning: Sets the Cubs up as the only team to have an active streak of 60+ years without a WS victory (97 years). HEHE!

Intriguing matchup to say the least. One team is making their 1st World Series appearance, another has not been here in 86 years (where have I heard that before?) Shoeless Joe must be cheering on these White Sox because they, unlike the infamous "Black Sox" are actually starting to be appreciated. The White Sox have the home field, but Houston just seems to be clutch at all the right times. So...hmmm.... Well, we know the Wild Card wins it every year, right? Houston in 6.

White Sox in 6. 4 good starting pitchers are better then 3 good starting pitchers. White Sox offense is better and he going to score more runs. no one on ESPN thought any of the games would go over 5 runs. i'd disagree w/ that.

I'd say a nail biter for the Sox in 7. 2 great staffs & good relievers but the Sox staff is on & seems to be competing not only against the opponent but for bragging rights amongst each other. Clutch against the Cards won't be the same as tryin' to be clutch against the Sox...

This should be a fantastic Series. I can't imagine it'll generate much national interest, but baseball fans are in for a real treat. I can't remember the last time two pitching staffs this good faced off in the World Series. It's going to be great and, honestly, could go either way. I like Houston in six.

This is one of those finals where I really wouldn't mind if either team won. If I really had to be pushed, I'd say the Astros because it would be a great way for Clemens to end a HOF career. Astros in 7

As a Twins fan, I have difficulty pulling for the White Sox. They have been the team the Twins loved to beat up on during their streak of division titles.
The Astros have their "big 3" pitchers, Clemens, Pettitte, and Oswald, plus they have Brad Lidge to finish the games up. They have Jeff Bagwell to DH in the Cell, and a good, young group of players to run at the Sox.
The Sox have a great manager who put a winning plan together and sold it to his players. He is very abrasive, at times, but didn't have any trouble with his team this season, at least not any public trouble. Everything was kept within the walls of the clubhouse.
I think the Astros will take one of the first two games in Chicago and will win in 6 games.

My pick: Sox in five. The Astros don't have enough hitting and I think the Sox have an underrated pitching staff.

You would think that after their starters throw 4 complete games (Sox) they would have a little more publicity, especially against a high-offense team like the Cardinals.

Excellent first game...

Once again it comes done to execution. The Astros blinked first in this one.

This should be a helluva series at this rate...

You couldn't script this any better especially if you're a Chicago fan....1 weekend, 2 Sox & 1 Bear win...

Im not a fan of either team, and Ive enjoyed both games so far. I want the Stros to win the next few so that we can have 6 or 7 of these games.
