Baseball America listed 580 minor league players that have been declared free agents as of October 15, according to the 6-year renewal pact. This pact requires a player to either be placed on a team's 40-man roster or be declared a free agent after 6 years of minor league service.
Many, including Brad Clontz of Atlanta, have major league service. Most have none. The team with the most players declared free agents is the Yankees with 37, the fewest is the Blue Jays with 8, including former Angel phenom, Jason Dickson. Any comments?

There's no doubt there's a wealth of young talent out there who are eager to make a name for themselves. I bet you there are more than a few diamonds in the rough out there - the hard part is separating the players with potential from the duds. Very few players were born and destined to be a star.

Out of those 580 I would say 10 will be future Hall of Famers
