Default Everyone post their 1st round Western Conference Predictions here!

Lets see who can come closest.

Minnesota vs. Denver
This could be the Wolves' year. Peaking at the right time, winning their last 9, I don't see Denver getting close.....with the last game(93-67Wolves) a sign of things to come. Carmello willl have to pay his dues first!
Wolves in 4

LA vs Houston
Can Shaq shake the funk? He needs to play well. Can Yoa handle playoff intensity? will Stevie Franchise and Gary Payton out trash-ball one another? Will Malone's ankle be sound?
Lakers in 6 with Malone, 7 without....

San Antonio vs. Memphis
The Big Fundamental and the Spurs are too solid ( winning their last 12 and none were close)and the Grizz too inexperienced (losing their last 4 games against playoff teams). However, With the 1st playoff home game excitement, the 11 deep rotation will wear out the Spurs in Memphis in game 3 .
Spurs in 5

Sacramento vs. Dallas
Dallas finished Strong, Kings finished weak(lost 4 of last 5)....With the Kings in Jeckyl and Hyde mode and Dallas just having fun, finally jelling with Mr. Walker winning 8 of their last 10.......
Mavs in 6

Overall, the Spurs and the Wolves are both sizzling and should have easy 1st round matchups.....the Lakers need to tighten up to beat the Rockets and the Dallas-Sac matchup will be an incredible series!

wolves in 5

Lakers in 7(it will be fun to watch)

Spurs in 6(I was hoping the Grizzlies would advance but their chances are slim to non against the spurs

Sactown in 6(Mavs just don't have the defense to compete with the Kings.)

I agree Clipps... Dallas will not defeat Sacramento no matter the current win streak. Sacramento's defense will be the key.
and I do believe it's time for C-Webb to turn it on bigtime. This matchup should rival the 4th of July for fireworks.
Sacramento in 6.

Lakers over Houston in 5.
Are you kidding me? Shaq owned Yao last game, when he actually felt like proving it. Kobe will let them know right up front that they'll be lucky to get one... and the Lakers will view this matchup as kind of a 'warm-up', if you will...

Spurs over the Grizz in 5. San Antonio, as much as I hate them, are [email protected]$$ and now it's time to focus. The Grizz are deep and have some wicked mojo going, but TD (as much as I really hate that guy!!) has the experience to put these kids away without wearing out his tribe too much.

and I have to agree with Jay on the T-Wolves... Minnesota is off the hook this year with $pree & Ca$$ell rounding out the league MVP beautifully. My spidey-sense warns that this club may present the biggest threat to my Lakers..
and oh yeah, sorry Denver you're out in 4, but good job 'Melo!!

1 Minnesota vs 8 Denver
The Wolves just have too much. Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets are a tremendous story but I can't see them beating Garnett, Cassell, Spreewell, Olowakandi, etc.
Minnesota in 4

2 Los Angeles Lakers vs 7 Houston
The Lakers clearly have one of if not the top team going into the play offs. The question is whether they can last through the play offs playing as a team. I say they will.
Lakers in 4

3 San Antonio vs 6 Memphis
Many here know I'm very high on the Grizzlies. They've made a miraculous turnaround and I believe we'll see it continue. They have a deep bench and proved they can play with the big boys out west.
Memphis in 6

4 Sacramento vs 5 Dallas
If only they had some defense. A first round exit will ensure Mark Cuban will go after some defense this summer. They Kings are a well rounded team that's better than a 4 seed.
Sacramento in 6

Wolves in 5- Denver will win one at home. I would love to see KG become devastated in this series with a lose but I dont see it happening.
Lakers in 5- Steve Francis is a turnover and bad decision machine, and Kobe will play AWESOME in this series as he always does against an undersized Mobley.
Spurs in 6- The thing that makes me balk off the Grizzles is the way they ended the regular season. I don't know what players they played or if they had anything to play for, but they played awful at the end of the season. O yea and no one can gaurd Tim Duncan. I figure if the Suns can beat the Spurs twice, so can Memphis.
Kings in 7- Sacramento is every bit as bad defensivly as Dallas is, but the Kings have a better point gaurd in Bibby, and Dallas has no one to gaurd Peja. (Hell Dallas couldn't gaurd St. Johns if they had to).

Who came the closest in the first-round picks?

Looks like I tied with Marc for coming closest:
both of us were off by only 3 games.
