I'm so pumped for this tourney!!... especially since it's back in Canada. Hopefully Halifax lives up to or exceeds the standard Manitoba set in 1999.

This team should be great... especially with Spezza likely to make it for the 3rd straight year now that Ottawa sent him back to the AHL... I really hope he gets another chance at Gold -- he played awesome last year.

This tournament is like the staple that comes with Christmas -- Canada opens on boxing day this year!!... last year it was on Christmas morning and they whopped France like 14-0  it was great fun!!!

Jordan Tootoo is an amazing hockey player -- got to see him play a few times back home in Manitoba with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He should finally make this roster.

It would be sweet if the Panthers allowed Bouwmeester to play... and Nash from the 'Jackets. ...still holding onto that hope

Agreed.... I get to see him quite a bit as the Wheat Kings play (well kick our ass) the Tigers.

I've always liked him... actually we nearly drafted him but chose Chris St Jaques instead. Hard choice.... but Tootoo is a great player... hope he makes the NHL

Ya... his younger brother was recently killed in a car accident, too -- I'm sure he'd love to win Gold for his bro.

...BTW, Tootoo IS drafted, right??... who drafted him? I thought it was an expansion team for some reason but i dont know...

Though he's in the AHL, the Sens aren't making Spezza available for the WJHC. They're goin all the way anyway... kinda sad that Spezza won't be there for a 3rd or 4th time around but he's a pro now. Yay

What a crappy end to the tourney. 6 years without gold and the Russians now have 12; Canada just 10 all-time.

I watched the first 50 minutes of the game at Winnipeg International Airport. I'm sure if I didn't have to leave for my flight, they would've scored and tied it up. Was it at least exciting at the end?? Did they put the pressure on??... they should've won the gold last year or at least put it into OT. The goalie (who was also the RUS goalie this year, Mevedevv) intentaionally knocked the net off during the last minute of the game which == penalty shot. What's wrong with those fuking Russians anyway??? Kovalchuk a few years ago starts pumping his fist >>before<< he "scores" a THIRD PERIOD EMPTY NET GOAL against Canada and Mevedeev tries to cheat in the Gold Medal game in 2002.
