Tonight starts an improtant series for Florida as they face the NY Mets in New York. Florida last two out of three to Atlanta, but can get back in the wild card race by sweeping the Mets. If Pittsbugh can the Marlins sure can.

Unfortunately, for the Marlins Brian Moehler takes the hill tonight against Steve Trachsel. Moehler is 7-8 with an ERA of 6.12. Trachsel is 14-7 with an ERA of 5.17.

Trachsel beat Florida 6-5 on August 2nd of this year. He also beat Florida back in April.

Wow... what a game... 4 back to back to back to back home runs to tie it in the bottom of the 9th... then Nomah!!!!! Hits a walk-off in the 10th. Unbelievable!!! I'm still in shock over this one.

Damnit, one of these NL West teams needs to just drop out of this race. It's damn annoying that they might get two teams into the playoffs.I guess I could just blame the Mets for making the Phillies schedule much much harder than the Dodgers/Padres have, but it's just one of those annoyances. I guess the wild card is better than nothing, though.

If the Phillies make it into the playoffs, I think they could actually make some noise there. Utley, Burrell, Howard, and Rollins are playing pretty well right now. Their pitching is doing their jobs as well.
As for the Dodgers/Padres, either one would cause other teams some difficulty in a short series. The Cardinals always have Pujols and Rolen hitting for them and Carpenter pitching.
The NL races are very interesting.

The Phillies match up well with the Cardinals (and have played them well the past couple seasons) and to a lesser extent, the Mets. I mean, with the Mets, anything would be possible, but if the Phillies play the Cardinals, the Phillies win that series. The Phils are better than whatever team comes out of the West, so yeah, they have a chance to make some noise there.

I have to say, even with my team ousted - this post season is going to be very interesting. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm also looking very forward to the postseason. Will Detroit make it in? How about those Phillys. I agree they could produce some noise in the postseason with their offensive lineup.

I see Minnesota really surging. They could go deep into the playoffs.
