Default Who Do You Think Is Going To Be The Best Team In The AFC Central Division This Year?

I think that the AFC Central Division is getting more competitive. The teams are all pretty similar. I'm not sure if there is a team that has a distinct advantage over another or not. How do you think the division will shape up this year?

I'll go with:

1.Baltimore Ravens
2.Cincinnati Bengals
3.Pittsburgh Steelers
4.Cleveland Browns

A very good question!

Cincinnati will likely be the division's wild-card, yet not necessarily a playoff team. The Bengals remind me of a team that should be going south, yet their talent and recent history of losing seem to have people optimistic for some kind of turnaround. The Steelers are the division's weirdo ... they will be looking for some creative ways to lose football games. Cleveland doesn't seem highly thought of ... so I guess the consensus SHOULD be with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Cleveland Browns COULD win the Super Bowl this year! If they do win the championship and don't win their division, could they still be considered the best team?

I expect Cleveland and Baltimore to evolve strength as the season progresses. If the Ravens look like world beaters, expect the Browns to steel their spotlight!

1. Ravens
2. Bengals
3. Steelers
4. Browns

The Browns are now the worst NFL team in Ohio (congrats), and the Steelers will be a chock full of mediocrity.

I'll agree w/Marc. Baltimore's defense is good enough to win games, It's just up to Boler (sp?) not to give em up. If J Lewis repeats last year, look for Ray Ray and company to be standing on top of the division, leaving battered bodies in their wake.

Ravens because those two Lewis guya. Argubaly the best offense and defense guys on one team. If they had better teammates they'd be the pats.

If Carson Palmer turns out to be the real deal at QB then the Bengals will eke it out. But, I suspect the Bengals may not make that next step forward as Palmer is likely to go through some growing pains early on. Due to that the Ravens probably get out early and fend off a charging Bengals team to win out.

Oh, and Browns going to the Super Bowl? I would not hold my breath.

Hey, no breath holding here!

Cleveland has an EXCELLENT opportunity this season ... as do the Raiders. I see some things in both teams that merit watching.

I am with everyone else in that I'm not yet ready to place the Brownies on a pedestal.

Cincinnati. Their defense will be better this season and Carson Palmer will ge the offense going with Rudi Johnson pounding the ball up the middle.

Coach Marvin lewis is a defensive genius.

It looks like the Ravens are going to take the Central, but I think the offense is going to be surprisingly strong. A year ago, I said Kyle Boller would be the best of the Class of 2003 QBs and I'm sticking by that.
I still can't get my mind around the concept of Cincinnati as playoff contenders, but in the AFC Central, they're the second best team.
The Browns and Steelers will be fighting it out for the scraps, and I think the Browns will ease into third place, because 'em Stillirs haven't addressed any of their weaknesses in the offseason. Pittsburgh's offensive line is still subpar and so is its defensive backfield.

The one thing that I just don't like about the Ravens are their recievers. Outside of Todd Heap nodoby scares me in their passing attack and he always seems to be playing with an injury of some sort. I think they will need someone to emerge at wideout if the Ravens want to seriously contend this year.
