Default Dalembert to Sign...

Sounds as though the Sixers are about to take Dalembert off the free agent market with a six year deal worth between 60 and 70 million dollars. The Sixers needed to hang on to him I only hope this does not end up being a case where they overpaid to keep him. I am hoping Mo knows what to do with the guy and he turns into the dominant defender and rebounder he has shown flashes of becoming.

Sounds like a Carlos Boozer overpaying type situation. He's a nice player, but geesh...

Wow!! Good for this guy. From Port au Prince, Haiti to getting paid $10-12 million a year. I guess this shows how bad the state of big men in the NBA is. This guy put up a whopping 8ppg and 7.5 boards last year and now makes as much as Paul Pierce. I guess this guy could be a force in 2-3 years but holy **** do I wish I was seven feet tall.

It seems as though the NBA is experiencing the same free agent boom MLB did a couple of years ago when guys such as Mike Hampton starting receiving outrageous big money deals. Now players like Dalembert and Larry Hughes are recieving these ridiculous contracts worth $10 million plus. They're both nice players but I'm not convinced either one is worth half they money they're getting paid.

Paying Dalembert all that money is ridiculous, i think Philly should have invested that money into getting Iverson some help that could actually HELP him. Looks like another dismal season for the Sixers.

Dalembert got better and better as the season went on. in the playoffs he displayed a lot of hussle. i think he can turn in a very good player. sure he is getting overpaid... but that's the name of the free agency in the nba. he is a center w/ a ton of upside and that's why his is so sought after.

A seven-foot center with any skill at all is becoming more rare in the NBA. So while it may be a bit of an inflated deal, it's not as outrageous as, say, the money Jim McIlvaine got back in about 1998.

Such as...

All of the top guys are electing to take the money and stay put. Plus, the Sixers did not have any cash to go outside of the organization to sign guys anyways.

Honestly, one of the biggest things holding Dalembert back last year was O'Brien not having any sort of clue on how to use him. When he got substantial minutes he actually put up pretty good numbers.

i'd rather have Dalembert over Bogut on my team anyday. the 76ers have a good team that O'Brien was clueless on how to use.

Chris Webber will never be the player he was, but i think once him and AI get into camp together they will figure a great way to integrate their games together.

they are both great passers and can get Dalembert and the young, powerful Andre Iguodala into the mix. Iguodala very good defender who can steal the ball. Kyle Korver is a great 3 point shooter.

Maurice Cheeks should be a great player's coach, much like new Trailblazer coach Nate McMillian. he is the perfect guy to make the 76ers the winning team in the marginal Atlantic division.

The Sixers are definitely going to be exciting. AI9 (Iguodala) is incredibly versatile and should really come into his own next season. Keeping the big fella in the middle will keep the floor spread enough for Korver to pop the three, Iguodala to penetrate, and Iverson to, well, be Iverson.

That is a pretty damn good strarting line-up. Especially in the Atlantic Division. I agree that AI Part Deux (Iguodala) is about to be a break-out star. If Dalembert can start to score more (13ppg or thereabouts), it should take some of the pressure off Webber and give the Sixers a nice offensive attack. Plus they got the prodigal son back in Mo Cheeks. Good signing. Just cost them a lot of $$$.

Actually, I kind of like 'Iggy Hop' for Iguodala's nickname.

Considering that the Center core out side of 2 or three is seriously depeleted he isn't as over paid as some are saying he is probablly one of the top 10 centers in the leauge and that is the position that usally gets paid the most anyway.
