Mario Ferraro went under the knife to repair the fracture on Sunday.

There were eight NHL games on Sunday.

CAROLINA 2, EDMONTON 1

The Carolina Hurricanes scored two in the first period and held on to beat the Edmonton Oilers in the Sunday afternoon game. Teuvo Teravainen opened the scoresheet with his 15th of the NHL season and then assisted Sebastian Aho to make it 2-0.

ST. LOUIS 4, CHICAGO 0

St. Louis net-minder Jordan Binnington, who backstopped the Blues to their only Stanley Cup triumph back in 2019, had been in a terrible slump and had been replaced by Ville Husso as the teams' number one goalie, won his second straight contest as he turned away all 30 shots in St. Louis 4-0 victory over Chicago. Binnington has conceded just 1 goal in his last two matches on 56 shots and is 13-10-3 with a 3.12 GAA and a .904 save %.

That is good music in the ears of fans of the Blues as Binnington had conceded 12 goals in his last five periods of play as they require him in the playoffs at top shape if they hope to do any major damage.

The Winnipeg Jets scored thrice in the last stanza to come from behind and beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-3.
