Masters Tournament 2021 Preview

The 2021 golf calendar will feature all the major golf tournaments, and they are scheduled to take place on their regular dates this year. From April to June, we will enjoy the three traditional majors in the United States, and in July we will switch our attention to England.

The three U.S. major championships are the Masters Tournament, the U.S. Open, and the PGA Championship. The Open Championship is the major championship taking place in England.

The first major the fans will watch is the 85th edition of the Masters Tournament. It will be held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, between April 8 and April 11.

Here are the dates and places of the other three majors:
* PGA Championship - Kiawah Island (Ocean Course) - May 20-23
* U.S. Open - Torrey Pines - June 17-20
* The Open Championship - Royal St. George's - July 15-18

The Augusta major has the smallest field of all the major championships, and the length is 7,475 yards.

Over 90 players are qualified for the tournament, and it will feature the top 50 players from Official World Golf Ranking, as of March 29th. However, the participation at the Masters is by invitation only.

The invites are awarded based on several criteria. For example, past winners, recent major champions, winners of pull-point tournaments on the PGA Tour during the previous 12 months, or even several leading amateurs.

The money prizes from last year were a combined of $11,500,000, and a winning share of $2,070,000. There were a total of 92 players, and the champion was Dustin Johnson. Johnson won the Masters Tournament 2020 with a score of 268 and -20 par. Of this year's favorites, Justin Thomas came in fourth, Rory McIlroy was fifth, and Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka seventh.

The odds winning this year's tournament are already available at Unibet Sportsbook. Dustin Johnson has +550, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas +1000 each, Jon Rahm +1100, and Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have +1200 each.

Also, Dustin Johnson is the main favorite for each of the majors. He also won the U.S. Open in 2016, and currently is number one in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Justin Thomas is currently world's No.3, and won the PGA championship in 2017.

Rory McIlroy won the U.S. Open in 2011, at 22-years-old. He also won the 2012 and 2014 PGA Championships, and the 2014 Open championship, thus needing only a win at the Masters to complete his career grand slam. His best result at the Masters was the 4th place in 2015.

Jon Rahm's best result at a major championship was the third place at the US Open in 2019, and the fourth place in 2018, also at the Masters. Currently, he is world's No. 3.
