The Winners of the MLB Offseason

The world in which we now live is a great place to stay entertained. This is certainly true as a sports fan, with all the top sports being fantastic to follow right now. Even if you look outside of sports for a moment, the modern world gives us so many ways to keep from getting bored.

From using social media to catch up with friends to streaming the latest music to your smartphone, there is always something fun to do when a game is not on. You may even use your sports downtime to play online casino games -- you can actually get a Betfair Casino promo code -- or place some bets down on some of your less-preferred sports to help keep yourself invested in them.

When you are ready to get involved with sports again though, Major League Baseball is the choice for many. Whether you roar on the Cubs or support the Yankees, baseball is a game loved by many around the world. With an estimated 500 million fans from the U.S. to Japan, it is a popular sport with many people.

Who has come out of the MLB offseason best?

If you are a huge baseball fan, then the offseason is always exciting. It not only gives you time to look forward to how your team may do in the coming year, but also see which new signings they have brought in to help. Of course, with some big free agent names such as Bryce Harper and Manny Machado still to decide their future, a lot could also change by season start.

For now, it is the below teams who have hit a home run this offseason.

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox have had some serious money to finance a rebuild this offseason, which bodes well for them. Their financial muscle also puts them right in the mix for hoping to attract Machado and Harper, which would be amazing for their fans. What White Sox fans do know already is that Ivan Nova, Álex Colomé, and Yonder Alonso will be plying their trade there this coming season. These signings have given their roster great flexibility and added experience to help them have a great 2019.

San Diego Padres

Although an outside tip to do well in 2019, the Padres' offseason suggests they just might do it. Like the Rays in 2018, this could be the team that surprises you the most this time around. The key signing for them so far has been Ian Kinsler, who will provide much-needed experience at second base and also general team leadership. With Garrett Richards also coming in for around $15m, they have done some smart business in the offseason to date.

St. Louis Cardinals

This year is all about making progress for St. Louis, and their two major offseason signings to date deliver that. Paul Goldschmidt is highly talented and will bring much-needed experience to the middle order. Alongside him, Andrew Miller will be hoping to bounce back from an injury-hit season last time out to show everyone just how good he can be. If both these big-money deals work out, then they could propel the Cardinals to where they want to be. If further trades are made before spring training starts, then this will only add to what has been a decent offseason for them.

Seattle Mariners

When you talk about the 2018-19 MLB season, you have to look at the Mariners. To say that they have been busy is an understatement. This shows that they have serious ambitions for the coming year and are not afraid to invest the money needed to make it happen. From their 25-man opening-day roster, eight will be trades brought in this offseason, with one free agent signing and one Rule 5 pick. Mallex Smith looks set to bring his abundant talents to the fore this year, while other good deals such as Omar Narváez, Justus Sheffield, and J. P. Crawford have made this offseason productive for the Seattle team.

2019 MLB season is almost upon us

Although there is still time for teams to make free agent moves, the regular season is now not far away. This gives us the perfect chance to assess the moves made by each team so far and see how they stack up. While you can never predict for sure what will happen in baseball, the above teams certainly have been busy to make the best start possible to their campaign.
