Houston Texans & Miami Dolphins Trade?

so I was listening to talk radio this morning (something that I rarely do) and they were babbling on how they had heard about a trade proposal with the Houston Texans and my hometown Miami Dolphins.. They went on and on and on about Drew Henson and how he could make an impact in the future should we get him and how we needed to draft a WR (which Im in complete agreeance). I was in complete shock b/c I hadnt even heard about any rumblings with this certian player, however, it did make sense for both parties..

trade proposal.

Adewale Ogunleye and the Miami Dolphins First & Third Round pick in this years NFL Draft to Houson and next year's Second Round pick.

Drew Henson and the Houston Texans First & Third Round pick in this years NFL draft to Miami.

Now, it's known that Houston is in search for a quality established DE. Ogunleye coming off 15 sacks this season and 9 the year before makes him a budding star 4 years into the league. The Dolphins get a QB they can work with in Henson, how good he will turn out is unknown. The Fins will also recieve the Texans first round pick in which, they can turn around and draft a WR .. possibly a Roy Williams of Texas

what are your thoughts and comments?

Houston definitely needs help at the DE spot.

Is Ogunleye fit to play DE in a 3-4 though. If he can't then he wouldn't help Houston at all.

dhav makes a beautiful, impeccable point. It should have dawned on me as I read it, but dhav really nailed it.

Ogunleye is NOT a 3-4 end. HOWEVER, I think if the Texans were to do this trade (this isn't the Miami trade I've heard about recently, though) they'd move him to OLB.

Don't know if Ogunleye has any coverage skills, though, and I don't know how tough he would be against the run standing up. It's an interesting thought, but ultimately a mistake, I think, for the Dolphins to grab a completely unproven QB who's only coming back to football because he couldn't hit single-A level pitching...

The Miami trade I HAD heard about involved a trade with Washington, however.

We're all familiar with the fact that the 'Skins are hot and heavy for Brunell. Well, if the Skins do complete a trade for Brunell, there is speculation that the Fish may trade with Washington to obtain Patrick Ramsey. Exactly what they'd trade, I don't recall.

Personally, I'd take Ramsey over Henson at this point. If Henson were just coming from college, maybe I'd have more respect for him, but till he proves he "can make plays other QBs can't" like he claims, he's a guy who hasn't played football in 3 years who didn't have the hand-eye coordination to hit a curve... why should I believe he has the mentality to read an NFL defense?

I heard the Ramsey rumor as well, and what I saw said the Dolphins offered their 1st Round Pick (#20). If i were Miami, I wouldn't give up that much for Pat Ramsey.

niether would I.. personally I dont like any of the two QB's.. Ramsey or Henson.

I do like Philip Rivers though :)

What if Henson turns out to be the next Chad Hutchinson? No way would I take that chance by giving up anything meaningful for him - and it's hard to believe that Joe Gibbs is already giving up on Patrick Ramsey. As for Brunell, I'd say he's probably washed up at this point.
