Default How the coaches voted...

The USA Today had a breakdown of how the coaches voted in the final poll. Here is the Top 3 from each conference with first place votes in ( ). The Buckeyes swept first place votes in the Yankee conferences (Big Ten, ND, Pac Ten, Big East and MAC). The ACC, SEC and MWC had LSU as #1. Interesting that C-USA and the SBC (both Confederate) went big for Ohio State.

Big Ten + Notre Dame (8 coaches)
1. Ohio State (8)
2. LSU
3. Oklahoma

************

Pac Ten (5 coaches)
1. Ohio State (5)
2. LSU
3. Southern Cal

***********

Big East (4 coaches)
1. Ohio State (4)
2. Georgia
3. LSU

***********

MAC (6 coaches)
1. Ohio State (6)
2. LSU
3. Oklahoma

**********

Big Twelve (6 coaches)
1. Ohio State (4)
2. Oklahoma (1)
3. LSU (1)

**********

ACC (6 coaches)
1. LSU (3)
2. Ohio State (3)
3. Virginia Tech

**********

SEC (6 coaches)
1. LSU (2)
2. Ohio State (2)
3. Georgia

**********

C-USA (6 coaches)
1. Ohio State (5)
2. LSU (1)
3. Georgia & Oklahoma

**********

SBC (4 coaches)
1. Ohio State (3)
2. LSU (1)
3. Oklahoma

***********

WAC (4 coaches)
1. Ohio State (2)
2. LSU (1)
3. Oklahoma & LSU

***********

MWC (4 coaches)
1. LSU (2)
2. Ohio State (2)
3. Oklahoma

**********************************************************

Other interesting notes:

1. Bobby Bowden's Big 12 vote -
#6 Missouri
#7 Kansas
#10 Oklahoma

Can you say bitter after Oklahoma stomped FSU 13-2 for the MNC earlier this decade?

2. Tommy Bowden (like father, like son)
#5 Missouri
#6 Kansas
#7 Oklahoma

3. Mack Brown stuck it to Bob Stoops:
#1 Ohio State
#2 LSU
#3 Oklahoma

4. Mike Leach stuck it to Stoops too:
#3 Kansas
#4 Oklahoma

5. Houston Nutt's love of Florida:
#5 Florida (then again, Herbie had 'em here in his final AP vote too )

Yeah, but then Herbie found out 2 hours later that his ballot was holding a press conference to say he really had Florida at #11

(if by Herbie you meant Herbstreit)
