Default My Week 2 Thoughts...

Since Week 2 is almost in the books I thought I'd post some of my thoughts and concerns considering this was officaly my first week of getting back into the NFL since work screwed me over last week. Anyway's, just some random thoughts I'd like to get your opinions on...

- Kurt who? I thought Bulger looked great, but Faulk just needs more then 18 carries.
- Why isn't Peerles Price being involved in Dan Reeves' offense these days?
- Plaxico Burress & Hines Ward may very well be the best 1,2 recieving combo in football today.
- I didn't expect the Colts and Titans to be so one sided...
- Priest Holmes is the real deal.
- Buffalo just keeps rolling and are a serious bid for the Super Bowl.
- I'll miss Clinton Portis more then Jake Plummer.
- Carolina pulled off quite the upset, special teams get's it done!
- Words cannot express how much Chad Pennington makes a difference for the Jets.
- McNabb is being left out to be killed every game.
- The Patriots have gone back to playing some serious ball.
- Ricky Williams is back.
- The Vikings look real good, how long will it last?
- I feel sorry for Urlacher. Screw Kordell and Chandler, start Grossman.

Let me know what you think.

In the first half no, second half he got the job done. I'm still not sold on Bulger yet.

I agree. Faulk is the man that makes the offense go, a fact Martz continues to ignore. Ah, well. Maybe there'll be an opening in St Louis come the offseason...

Is he uninvolved or blanketed by double coverage, effectively removing him from the offense? There were any number of problems with trading for Price. I'll name three: 1. He never proved he could be a #1 receiver. 2. He never proved he had double-coverage beating ability. 3. Without a viable #2 receiver alternative, how can any QB, especially DJ, be expected to find him on the field when a safety and linebacker can be used on him to effectively triple cover him?

Emotional letdown for traveling Titans, and Volek in for some time for Tennessee; not to mention tougher Colts than in years past. This will become a beautiful rivalry to watch for some time to come.

Let's not go overboard here. They demolished a demoralized Pats team in a game that meant WAY more to Buffalo than to NE, and demolished a Jags team in dire need of a break, or three hundred. An awful offseason has turned into a desperate early season for Jax. Leftwich to start before October...

So will the Broncos. Pick against them whenever Portis can't be in the lineup.

I was watching the end of the Philly-NE game wondering why Detmer wasn't playing those final few series. Reid may be in for a really long year, if things don't get on track, fast.

I want to warn against taking too much away from the Philly game for NE fans. The Eagles are a team with DESPERATE troubles, much as the Pats were after game 3 a year ago. I think MUCH needs to be improved in NE. Still no run game. A defense that has yet to face a true offense with any success. Don't think too highly of this team just yet. Much work to be done, I think.

Back? Where'd he go?

Health could keep them from going this way all year. But, that notwithstanding, I think this Vikes team is for realsies.

Why feel for Urlacher? And, I suspect Grossman will be starting by November.
