Default Denver's Rod Smith signs 40 million dollar Contract

Smith signed a $40 million dollar contract over seven years. He receives an $11 million dollar signing bonus. Not bad for one day's work.

Smith led the NFL In receptions with 113. He had 1,343 receiving yards.

The signing bonus is the second largest in franchise history-Brian Griese had the largest signing bonus in franchise history.

Nice pocket change for Smith. Another thing Denver gets out of this signing is more cap room. By giving Smith a new contract they were able to free a bit of salary cap room. The deal works out well for both parties.

I think Denver should trade one of their running backs, they have three who are capable. T.D.'s chances of shining again look slim as he simply can't stay healthy, though.

Rod Smith is one of the best receivers in the league, but like Davis and Griese, injuries killed him and this team last year.
