I also enjoyed living in Biloxi, Mississippi. Beautiful beaches or they were. Nice antebellum homes or there were. Keesler Air Force base for employment.

Casinos when I use to gamble. Four casinos have reopened.

Cigs are cheap. But car tags are high high.

Good people and very polite.

Really enjoyed going to Ship Island off the coast. Has old fort from the Civil War there. Called Fort Massachuetts. And great fishing. Flounders, Speckled trout, Redfish, Groupers and many many more.

Depends on what you look for in a state; if it's safety from crime and quality public schools to send your kids to, then Maine, Vermont and North Dakota make your short list.

On the other hand, if housing affordability is your be-all-and-end-all, then South Dakota is #1 (Yankton, South Dakota, has the lowest average housing costs of any recognized real estate market in the U.S.). North Dakota is pretty good too in this area, but not anywhere in New England.

Alex, did you know the American version of the TV show "The Office" is based in Scranton ... or is supposed to be based there? I thought that was funny. I've been through that area when I lived in Jersey.

Colorado is my second home. If I could afford the ridiculous cost of living in Denver, I would - provided that I could also affort season Avalanche tickets.
